*** Fix description ***

One post on this fix to recapulate what I said in other threads.

Problem:
V1.55 dedicated server doesn't work while V1.53 dedicated server does work.

Symptoms:
Clients get thrown out (for LAN users it could work) or errors display in the logging - vague errors in short.

Solution:
Update dedicated server to V1.53 (read on...)
Copy all files from "rs_win32_sa_server_155_update.zip/System/*.*" over to "(RavenShield Dedicated Server directory)/system". (yes: skip the V1.54 update alltogether and don't copy the other files because they're the same)
Rename the following files, they have the wrong case in V1.55:
Original V1.55 name -> WORKING V1.55 name
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>
system/
Core.u -> core.u
Editor.u -> editor.u
Engine.u -> engine.u
Fire.u -> fire.u
IpDrv.u -> ipdrv.u
UnrealEd.u -> unrealed.u
<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Ie. all filenames mentioned get to be lowercase.

Try it now. It should be fixed...

While you're at it, add all the hosts IP's mentioned in "system/Gsroutes.dat" to your hosts file to make the host lookup faster, this prevents the "Server loop time: 4998ms (2fps)" log messages.

To do this we need to edit our (dedicated) server's "hosts" file.
Under Windows get this file (or create it) in "c:\Winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" or "C:\windows\hosts".
Under Linux get this file from "/etc/hosts".
Now add or enter the following to that file and save it:
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>
216.98.52.51 router2.gs.ubisoft.com
216.98.52.37 gsrouter2.ubisoft.com
216.98.52.30 gscdkey.ubisoft.com
216.98.52.35 gsrouter1.ubisoft.com
216.98.52.50 router1.gs.ubisoft.com
216.98.48.12 ladder.ubi.com gsconnect.ubisoft.com
216.98.48.5 secure.ubi.com
