My Slpinter Cell case says it recieved teh highest score ever from them. so Halo didn't even get teh good of a rank. But if they think that, why did Halo make more sales?

It means it got the highest score from that one source. Games are ranked from tons and tons of different places. They just chose the one that gave it highest. Most sites have halo ranked higher. Scores mean little anyway. Just remember, don't always believe what you read.

plus... sc only got one tenth of a point higher than halo. sc got a 9.6, halo got a 9.5, and plus... halo appeals to a lot more people because a lot more people like fps's.

also, either way they are both masterpieces and will always remain as 2 of the best video games ever

i dont follow scores. they are the opinion of one person or a small group were all different. i like the FPS genre.
i lookes at the tile of this post and i thought it was on about you getting the highest score on pacman or somthing.

when we die in life we dont have a respawn rate and ping indicators. have 1 chance to live. use it to kick .......... mmmmmm....... pie

LOL! Same here, like_a_ghost! I thought it woulda been Space Invaders, though. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Oh, and bergey, a tenth CAN make or break a game. Like if a game is rated 8.9 or 9.0. That makes it either 1 range of games or another. Tenths are very important to me. If it's 8.0-8.9 I consider it a Good game. If it's 9.0-10.0 I consider it a Great game. I really don't look at 7.9 games and below. However, I have owned sub-7.9 games because I bought it before I looked at a rating, and when I did, it contradicted my thoughts. So they can be wrong sometimes, however, I usually go by them.

yes.... but does it really make that much of a difference considering it is a 9.5 anyway? either way, they are both great. many games aren't made the best, but they sell well ne way because it is fun to play...

The thing is, it is only a tenth from ONE REVIEWING SOURCE. There are tens of thousands of places, probably even millions if you count the smaller websites, and this is just one score.

Very true, Rathitz, however I only use 1 main source at the moment. They give the best reviews I have ever seen. Each game has a 1-4 page review and an archive of probably 100+ screenshots and some videos of the game. They divide the game into sections and analize each one separately, then give a final score (not an average) out of 10. They do very well and I have agreed to all of their scores so far.

Heck no, Gamespot sucks. The site I go to seems to be fair to all systems. My friend said they rate GameCube hard but I don't think he's right because they game some GCN games some really high scores to be hateful towards it.

This source: http://www.ign.com/?fromint=1

EDIT: Search for any game and it WILL find it. They give VERY thorough (sp?) reviews and really tell you every single thing positive and negative about the game.

IGN is pretty good. I have actually found them to love the gamecube though, not be hard on it. But no reviewing source is perfect because the reviewers have preferences in games and naturally if they don't like the genre they are reviewing, the scores will be lower. So it's hard to go by scores.
