A friend sent me a copy of this book awhile back . { Thanks Honey , I enjoyed it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif } .

Has anyone read it ? What did you think of it ?
Just thought that as the topics of conspiracy have been coming up a lot lately , I would ask .

Warning , although this book is fiction , it does touch on some subjects that may offend some people .
So try to be nice people . http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Actually, my girlfriend and I are reading it (she reads a while, I read a while) it now. Very interesting book. The depth of the authors knowledge and ability to put that into an interesting piece of fictional is incredible. Some of the "facts" I knew, some is new.

We also picked up Angels and Demons, by the same author involving the same character. We were told to read DV code first, then A&D althoug A&D comes chronologically first.

I think it's funny how some of the "chapters" are one page long. I wonder if there is some deep dark code for the number of chapters?

Strange that I didn't notice these forums before. Last time I looked at the Ubi forums page, this didn't exist.

Ye Gods! Why didn't anyone at Myst Community or the early Uru board or Exile board ever mention this place? I've looked at the full spread of the Ubi forums and I've never seen this board before. The only ones other than Uru was Shadowbane, etc.

Coronagold, this forum has existed for quite a while, heh. But with the new software it's been just about a month from my understanding. Man are you behind the times or WHAT http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Speaking of books on Conspiracy. ... Anybody else here read "A Conspiracy of Tall Men" ?

Very good book in my opinion. -- on the other hand I read the proof copy which was really good. I've had friends who have read both the proof and the final print and say that so much was changed. To the point where the book isn't near as good as it had been apparently.

Gab , I'm with you about the " facts ". Many of them , I had heard before , just not quite in the way he connecte them . Which is one of the things I enjoyed about the book . A few left me scraching me head . But I like the theory he came up with about who the Mona Lisa really is . http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Who would have though she was a he ?

I haven't gotten that far, only on chapter 55 (of 104? chapters http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif)) But I do recall several years ago that there was substantial proof that the Mona Lisa (Amman L'Issa...brilliant) was actually a self portrait. I guess that is part of the theory in the book? Can't wait to find out!

If you like The Da Vinci Code you should read Foucault's Pendulum. It's pretty much the same kind of plot but concerns the Templer Knights instead of Da Vinci. It's a good read, hard to put down, and delves deeply into the arcane mysticisms of the three main religions and how they are all tied together. It's a very good action, thriller, mystery novel.

You haven't read the Da Vinci Code , have you Ron ? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I would say more Speedy and Ron , but I don't want to give it away to those who haven't read it yet . Mmmm , I guess that I can say that he connects the Templer's , Da Vinci , several heresys including Dualism , and a long standing secert organization and most of our art and legends . It isn't so much a who did it as who is behind it and why .

I hadn't heard that theory Gab . Sorry about jumping you ahead in the book , but as I can likely tell , that is only one of many views he brings up . I like how he links all of these theories together . Some are a bit much on my opinion , and very one sided , but it makes an interesting read .

Just finished "Da Vinci Code" in the truck, watching the kids at soccer practice. I guessed the code for the 2nd crpytix (way early...and who it refered to as well..the person's tomb they were searching for.)
The amount of detail in this book! The guy must be a genius! I have 2 others of Dan Browns, "Angels and Demons" and "Digital Fortress". Those I bought so I can take my time.

I am starting a library book, The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom (bedtime read)

Finishing up the last of the Stephan Baxter Mammoth triology (Silverhair, Longtusk and Icebones) on the train. I highly recommend!

Finally, I have a copy of "Myth-taken Identity", by Robert Asprin (newest MYTH book) from the library, waiting in line along with "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish." by Douglas Adams.

Good book indeed. I think Kreeden and I have filled a few mails about it all. Quite interesting how different things in the book pique interests. Art and architecture got me!

For those who have not indulged, it is worth a read.

Cheers all.

Although I haven't read The Da Vinci Code, it sound like a good book.
There is the game "Dues Ex" (the first of the series) that had elements of the Templar Knights and the Illuminati in the story line. I first played the game about four years after it came out (1998?). It was pretty creepy how close the story line came out to actual events. Dues Ex - Invisible War is the sequel. I can't wait!

Hello - I saw your post but wasn't sure what to say. I sure to want to tell you to read the book. The games do sound really interesting though.

I must admit that my note pad of things of interest and to do is long and I'm unable to conquer it all - but I love making an addition. Thanks for the lead. *( better live to be 48)* Honey

I thought I might mention that Dues Ex is a first person shooter type game with a well thought out story line. There is quite a bit of reading of information with codes to remember, various interactive decisions to make based on moral decisions you might or might not make. You might wish to check out the following:

I was looking at The Last Supper on the internet and I see the woman but the mirror clothing was right with one picture and not in another. It may be all of the restoration *shrug* I also noticed that all of the clothing color was limited. I have some more pages to read.

I love to read and I may have to look into The DV code. I just got done reading HP: and the Order of the Phenix for the 3rd time, and I'm reading Left Behind which is a very depressing almost disterbing book.

No, shampoo is better
