Less be realistic here, Halo has the BEST reticule ever in a FPS. Also is BEST FPS shooter EVER... (Hears everyone in the forum agrees with a nod).
But what the HELL is UbiSoft doing, trying to revolutionize that by putting a dot in the middle of it.

#1. Could it mean that if shoot while the dot is on the head of an emeny, it's 'one-shot bye bye'?

#2. Or has UbiSoft and the Rainbow Six team gone soft for us 'amateur console-gamers' 'cause PC gamers are so 'HARDCORE' because THEY were playing the PC version which has that precise & tiny reticule which gives them an unproven title that THEY ARE hardcore, and lets you hit ANYTHING the circle.

Well hopefully it's No.#1 bescause #2 is just too lenient
forgiving.

I have carefully lined up many shots with the SR-2. get the dot on the head and BANG! down they go.

Just try firing against a wall so you can see the spread of bullets, it gets more spread the further away but its still fairly accurate and all within the area of the outer circle.

the M249 is suprisingly accurate when you fire off a full box of ammo!!! I wouldn't say this amazingly realistic but its certainly fun and currently a challenge.

p.s. they wont always hit the dot but I found if I stayed still for a few seconds then they hit.

if you are sooo hardcore halo, you may not like this game...no respawns will kill ya

and like shaolin said, the bullets are pretty much hitting where the dot is pointing to...but....all you have to do is get someone within the circle to kill them

also, there is a big difference in reticle from the pc version...this reticle makes the game play a lil more Like Wolf, and what not...and a lil less like GR

you don't need to respawn in this b*tch if get off head shot.

haha. . . "get off" haha ..... "head shots" :P

besides ShoNuff. . . . halo's reticule is not like 'Wolf'.
Since you are the PC gamer-geek that you are, you would find Halo not only has a circle reticule for the pistol and shotgun, etc. But triangle and others for the alien guns, guy!

And Ghost Recon can suck THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE!! weak a*# game.
Who shoots a gun with it's muzzle behind their face and actually see round fire off in the distance in BROAD DAYLIGHT.

lol...your quite amusing...these boards needed a dimwit like yourself

who said Halo is like wolf...not i

i said the reticle in this game...AS IN R6...makes the game play a lil more like Wolf and such...as in actiony...and not as slow as GR

and what i meant by no respawn is, you may not like the game if you cant respawn in it...no race to 25, no race to 50

i think its funny how the haters of GR cant get past the Gun on Screen...who cares if its on screen or not, it doesnt do anything but sit there, why do you Have to see it...besides in GR, you need all the view of the screen you can get, since most of the action is at a distance, every inch of your screen is needed

also i have halo and an xbox, and been on Live since Sept...so no need to try to tell me how halo plays

and could ya try and stop double posting, its not hard, just click the button once noob

becuase foolio, it it it's not a shooter, it's a guy walking around with a crooked ***** peeing on everybody with a reticule ?:P? WHAT the hell ShoNuff, well maybe you like those KINDA games, i dunno.

but i know this, the gun models are SICK!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

i agree...the gun models are sick, and i could care less if its on screen or off though

i dont pay attention to that anywho, as long as their is ammo in the clip its all good

but as i said above, the distance fighting in GR is the key...and a gun taking up even a fraction of your screen could get you killed cause it COULD(not always) get in the way...not so necassary in the close quarters action of R6

ShoNuff

come on man, all your doing is taking up space in my 'thread'. Give me sumthing I can argue with. I mean we both know you see your gun when your shooting in real-life.
Or haven't you been to a firing range before in 'real-life' or the military. If you HAVE, then you know IT'S RIGHT to have the weapon there. Isn't GR like 'real life' ?!

............THEN WHERE"S THE DAMN GUN!! LOL:P

XyZspineZyX
10-03-2003, 08:13 PM
i know what you mean, but it doesnt bother me either way

maybe its the animations of going prone that caused the problems...cause you cant keep both hands on screen and have the guy lay down...that would look even worse...i honestly dont know

Quite funny that your asking if he ever fired off a gun before. If you even know what a GUN is, you'd know you hold it in front of you, not behind you. Just a little reminder, seeing as how you know everything.

Ive shot a gun, hell i own an M16, and when your shooting you can see the back of the carry handle sight (blurry) and the foresight.
Except for that basically nothing of the gun. Think of when you Aim in R6:3. do i miss this from GR.

No.

In response to your question regarding wether shots go where the dot is pointed at, I do believe the answer is yes. I do remeber several times while playing the demo where I have dropped tangos with the UMP or M4 while crouching to a single shot to the head.

Another note on the reticle. I believe UBI soft decided to go with this new reticle because they noticed that in FPSs on consoles, a bigger reticle must be placed in the game to comensate for the SOMEWHAT less precise (or players less nimble thumbs) controller. (note: I'm an avid xbox player and love FPSs. I think FPSs do just as well on console as they do on PC, despite not have the mouse.) Therefore, when a player in R6:3 is standing stock still, the circle surrounding the dot expands, making it somewhat easier to place the dot on target because the bigger circle serves basically as an aiming aid. While moving, the reticle will shrink significantly, thus making it harder to get the dot on target because the surrounding circle is minimized, thus providing the player with virtually no aiming aid. Personally, I believe that the reticle is fine--for the moment. However, I believe UBIsoft should have just adopted a reticle similiar to the one in wolfenstein; when standing still, the reticle is normal size. When a shot is fired, the reticle expands momentarily to, simulate recoil, and then shrinks back to normal size. When firing at full-auto, the reticle expands to maxium size and the bullets go EVERYWHERE. When crouching, the reticle shrinks slightly to display a smaller area where the bullets will hit.

Actually Eyeless 9mm, you make perfect sense of the aiming reticule on Xbox's RS6.

That circle surrounding the dot serves, and serves ONLY as aan aiming aid.So when your aiming at a target's head, while moving, it will be harder to aim because ALL YOU'VE GOT IS THE DOT!! Otherwise when stnding still, you've got the surrounding circle, that's expanded, to help place the general area of the targeting reticule so you can estimate how far the space is from the dot-to-the-outside circle in relation to the target's head.

Great work, I was hoping someone would get it!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

yes it is, but you dont have to have the dot on a person to kill them...if you just put them within the outside circle you score a kill...i do this all the time in the Shower Area...kneel and aim, just making sure you get them within the outside circle, even just a head inside will give you a kill

my guess on the reticule being so big , is that it has something to do with auto aim ON , in the demo
