I read some things about a relationship between sound and performence, but it does not seem to be very clear.

Is there any relationship between sound acceleration and performence?

Who is heaving low performence with onboard sound and who not?

Who is heaving low performence with sound card and who not?

(post your spect too plz.)

when you use on board sound,(on motherboard it' puts more of a load on your cpu. useing a sound card such as the audigy 2 has it's own processer and so it it relieves the cpu dependense since the audgiy has it's own processor. hence more power to devot to lockon.

That suggests that the sound in LOMAC uses an incredible amount of processor power. Why would they have done that? The sound is imortant, but not more important than in other flight sims who seem not to put the processor in so much trouble for only the sound.

I have an ABIT mobo with an XP2600 with on-borad AC'97 sound. It makes no difference to performance on my system with acceleration turned off; it just sounds rubbish with it off.
