My question is concerning the space problem on discs for consoles. i.e. If they make the single player to big, then they won't have enough space for the multiplayer. So my proposition would be, couldn't they just make two seperate discs, one for multiplayer, and one for singleplayer.

"God has a hard-on for Marines, because we kill everything we see. He plays His games, we play ours. To show our appreciation for so much power, we keep Heaven packed with fresh souls. God was here before the Marine Corps, so you can give your heart to Jesus, but your *** belongs to the Corps." -Hartman, Full Metal Jacket

i am totally for the idea of 2 discs. that way, ubi wont havta worry about cramming everything onto 1 disc and doin a crappy job. and with the way everyone is sayin that this game will be the most open ended of the three, one disc should be all sp, and the other all mp. thats my opinion.

Heck, I'm ALL for 7 discs. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif They could do 2 discs, but I had to vote that they won't due to costs.

When it comes down to it, though, I'm wanting the big focus on single player as well. I'm feeling let down with PT single player. PT's multiplayer is very nice and can be improved with minor tweaks along the way. Co-op will add a new dimension, but I'm really feeling the need for a highly complex and involved single player campaign.

I too am hoping for a great single player experience... I don't have XBox Live right now, and frankly, I don't plan on getting it any time soon, so I'm really hoping that the single player will be an awesome game all its' own.

The co-op play is an awesome addition that I think will be lots of fun. People will invite their friends over for this kind of stuff... the only thing I'm wondering is this... Doesn't the definition of "Splinter Cell" (Elite intelligence-gathering forces consisting of a lone field operative) kinda contradict co-operative play?

Just a thought

Not really. Splinter Cells are merely low-tech intelligence tools to infiltrate a high-tech world. Sam works alone, Shadownet does not. Both accomplish the same goals in relatively similar means.

I had this idea on day 1 of this forum. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif But anyway, a 2 disc game would be much better because i would love a whole disc devoted to single player.

Due to costs? A CD costs like, $1 to print.

Hell guys, scpt for PC was 3 discs, why couldn't they do 2 or more for pc or xbox? They've done it in the past http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/351.gif

Okay...the games for xbox and PS2 are on DVDs...but they still don't hold enough space. And lets just drop the PC aspect...it was meant for consoles only, we know they have done it for PC, now we want it done for a console.

Actually, DVD's (or CD's) cost thousands of dollars to stamp. Commercial discs are stamped, not printed or burned. Granted, the setup fee is most of the cost (ie a one-time deal) and they'd make it back in sales with little trouble I'm sure. However, each disc needs to be filled with program content. THIS is what is the really expensive part. It takes significant programming time and resources to create the content necessary to fill one disc. Multiply that by however many discs and the costs continue to skyrocket...

ok guys, who really cares about the amount of discs anymore, we all know this game is going to kick all ***

GanjaKills

But it would kick even more *** if we had enough content to fill 2 DVD's.
