Just interested in seeing how peoples PCs are handling URU, especially graphics cards...

AMD 2100 xp
Geforce 4 ti4600
500mb ddr

Runs like a slug with everything turned up to ultra detail at 1280x1024 but playable (if barely in some places).

Unfortunately, doesn't run at all. I haven't even finished paying for my Gateway "Performance" PC yet, but it's not up to URU specs. What a disappointment, after all that waiting. I already got my return authorization and sent the CD back. ( sniff sniff ) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

System:

P3 - 1GHz
512MB PC133 RAM
GeForce 5200 FX Graphics

Settings:

1024x768 Resolution
High Graphics with Full Texturing
Full AntiAliasing and Full Anisotropics

Performance:

Runs great for me in most ages. Have a little trouble in Gira caused by audio slowing down my processor. Performance is fine in Garrison (moving background) and just a little lag in the Garden (Kemo) with the spore plants and puffers. I think the garden is probably the most graphic intensive age.

Hmmm...went from a
P3/800
Nvidia card (64mg)
512 memory

to a
P4/2.8
ATI 9600 Pro (128mg)
1GB memory

I did beta with both but found that I couldn't beta well with the first. It worked but needed some improvement. Came back with the new and improved machine with much success. And going online with Uru will definately prove your machine.

It does make a difference!

Sony GRX600CTO Laptop:
Radeon 7500-M
P4-M 2.0GHz
1GB RAM

Plays smooth in default mode windowed. Won't play in non-windowed mode. I can play it with everything maxed out in windowed mode, but it the slightest bit choppy -- FPS is around 15.

Athlon 2800+
Radeon 9800 Pro
1GB RAM

Smoooth as silk, everything turned up full blast including audio. If I turn down the number of sounds, the few places that are a touch choppy cease to be choppy.

thanx doodz.

Looks like the radeons and FXs are winning hands down, my old (hah, 12 months 'old') Ti will have to be replaced methinks. 300 for a years worth of gaming http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

The steam vents are causing my pc real problems with everything turned up max, I have to switch off AA and set anisotropic to half. And it's still jerky as hell.

Did anyone else get the lip-synching lag with zandi? was wondering if that was my machine or the game itself...

Here are my specs. As you can see, I don't have a really high end machine, yet I get decent results. Most often it's sound that lags me a bit as I get an area where a sound has to play. If I have lag, I have to turn the number of sounds down. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

OS: Windows XP Home
System: P4 1.7ghz with 512mb RAM
Video: GeForce4 Ti 4400 with 128mb RAM

Game settings:
resolution: 1024x768 32bit
Overall graphic quality: high
Textures: high
AA: medium
AF: unchecked
Sound: everything on

You don't need a super high end machine to play Uru, but if money were no object for me, I'd get an Alienware dream system! (drools)

Specs:
P4 2.4b @ 2.6 (Tt watercooled)
Asus P4S533-E (SiS645DX)
1GB PC2700 DDR333 (no fileswapping)
Ati Radeon 9700pro (cat 3.9)
Audigy 2 (nov/03 drivers)
WinXP Sp1 (tweaked to the max)
WD 120GB 8MB cache HD (fast)
17" Viewsonic Pro Series (1200x960x32@85Hz)

Originally built this system back in march to kill in Battlefield 1942 with everything maxed(and it does so admirably)

Theres really not much better out there, 3GHZ aint much better then 2.6 in games. Your vid card is really the most important aspect to smooth gaming. The 9700pro is still in the same 'upper' family along with the 9800pro, and is only about 5% slower. (the 9600 is where it takes a HUGE dip in performance)

So anyways, im runnign UrU in:
-1200x960 32-bit (same as desktop)
-Ultra detail (up from the default 'high')
-High Texture
-2x AA (first tab)
-2x AF (suprisingly in UrU it actually takes a hit when upping AF, doesnt in other games)

using 'fraps' to determine my FPS, my average on the 'home island' is anywhere from 80-116+
while in the first 'mushroom age' (dont know the names yet) its about 40ish, sometimes when looking at a large animated scene infront of you it can drop to 25ish :/ . but mostly keeps a solid framerate. I have yet to see how other avatars will affect performance.

I read here about peoples specs saying it runs silky with AF/AA maxed and all options maxed and im just thinking BS! you cant be getting 'silky smooth' gameplay with AF maxed and settings on ultra on a 9600 or GF42xx if im not on the 9700pro.

what exactly is smooth to you guys? it has to be at least 30FPS, and thats even pushin it as a minimum. At least this game doesnt really require it (as opposed to a shooter)

download fraps to see your in game FPS.
