First of all, I Think the game is very fan,but a little unbalanced due to Matchmaking. Play a duel againsta a 500 or 1000 skill player, is insta-loose.
From my experience in computer games and Magic The Gathering, I have some suggestions, and IMHO, the game could be a success.
1. Buddy list: a list to chat with friends, and to do duels against. This duels could be training, and you don't gain xp or gold. Instead,is a challenge,where you bet your own gold.
2. Trading system. 1 rare = 2 uncommon, 1 uncommon=2 common or something like this. A way to change cards directly with others players is fully needed, and in free way. For example, I change with you, this card, for this other card, or 10000 gold,and so on.
2a. Auction/Trading center. An auction is needed too, will be the general trading center. You can put a card on it, and the expiration date for the offer, with your petitions (this card, this card, and 10000 gold for example) and if someone is disposed to pay the price,the exhancge success.
3. Private tournaments: For example I create a tournament, with an inscription of 1000 gold, and the distribution of the pot for the prizes is, 50% of the pot for the first, 30% for the second, and 20% for third. This could be more complex of course. I as organizer, can include rare/premium cards and this are added to prozes pool. The prize for the organizer needs more study.
4. Replays. The possibility to record Matchs in some internal format, to replay the game in other computer.
5. Translation to other languages. Very important for massive adoption in all countries. I can help with spanish translation, only contact with me if you want.
6. Constantly new expansions with new cards. Every 6 months for example.
7. Chat channels. Possibility to create chat channels to talk.
8. Real money exchange with players,like real card games. Players are reluctant to pay for something not only random but digital too. Should be some possibility to sell cards for seals or something similar,and to exhange this seals for real money. This possibility, will make players be more receptives to spend money in something totally random and digital
Competitive play is so important for this game to success.
If all this points are well builded, I'm sure the game will have a great reception and success. But for this, developers and publishers needs to listen the community with experience in CCG.
