I'm running the updated demo (155mb). Installs and starts up fine (using the AMD PATCH). Cannot start the game. I get the error "there is not enough video memory. please select a lower resolution". (the lowest res 640x480) is already selected. (the game starts.. i can enter the load and options menu. the game gives me the error then exits to windows when i select "new game")

I have an ATI Radeon 7000 32MB DDR Card.
System specs are sufficient for this game...

2.08ghz Athlon 2600+ 333mhz
512mb pc2700 ddr ram 333mhz

Is my video card "officially" not supported? (i know, i know, its outdated... i'm getting a 9200 for xmas http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ).

It's only compatable with the 8500 or higher. That card is at least 3 years old, don't expect it to be compatable with modern games.

My system:

AMD XP 3000+ @ 2.23Ghz
1 gig of Corsair DDR PC2700 RAM @354Mhz
Radeon 9800 Pro video w/TV out core @434, mem @720
Windows XP SP 1
Microsoft Directx 9.0b
Antec TruePower TrueBlue True480 PSU
16x Antec DVD drive
24x10x40 Plexwriter CD-RW
1 Maxtor Diamond 9 160GB SATA hdd
1 Westerndigital 40 gig harddrive
1 Westerndigital 100 gig hdd (external)
Asus A7V600 VIA KT600 mainboard, 4-in-1 4.49
Creative 5.1 surround system
Thermaltake Aquarius II liquid cooling system

That sounds quite a blinkered and (dare I say it) uneducated conclusion. My gfx card is 3-4 years old, and although admittedly it has 64MB, I have yet to find a game it simply cannot run.

(Plus, it's even an nVidia gnogtr, eek!)

This is actually the first game that's given me a problem...
Granted, I'm not a huge gamer, but most the most recent games i've been able to play and complete have been:

John Madden 2004, Enter The Matrix, GTA3, Max Payne 2, Warcraft 3 (i do NOT claim to have completed this very long game http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ), Unreal Tournament 2003 and I am currently playing The Simpsons Hit and Run.

My video card handles these games very well for how old it is, it is only with the release of this particular game that I am being told it is outdated.

(like I said though, it isn't much of a problem. In a couple of weeks, I am buying myself a radeon 9200 for xmas)

Look, it is very eduacted. ATI didn't start making good cards until the 8500 came along. They were a struggling company. The oldest card you can have to play this game on nvidia's side is a GF2 and it's a little older than the 8500. If you don't believe me and still want to complain, you're not going to do it here because I'm locking this. There is a support tab at the top of this page, click it and give UBI a call.
