I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but after 1.41 patch came out i noticed that in 2 or 3 different servers i had peeps appearing right in front of me. I would be leaning and looking down a empty hallway and then out of no where and enemy would just majically appear infront of me and kill me. I have never had this problem till last night, i have high speed internet connection so i know its not lag and this has never happend to me before. If this is happening to anyone else or if anyone may know whats going on, plz let me know. For everyone who is going to respond to this save your time and not reply if your goin to say it is lag cause thats not the problem, i run smoothley on the servers with no lag at all. (average 50-70 ping)

I got the same thing playing on root last night. Only one guy though, the next guy around the corner actually showed up. It was on the airport level where the planes are, and i was on the lower level.

THis is old news man,
people have been experiencing "popping" with every version of RvS....
I don't know -how- you got away this long without experiencing it before.....

It is called warping. Ive noticed a huge increase with this release of the patch. I never lagged or never had loss of frame rate with last patch.
Our MCG server is dual xeon and T1 so no probs there.

I think it happens more with this patch.
Pings on average seem higher, and servers seem less stable.
Memory leak? PB? Ubi?
It wouldn't be a patch from Ubi if it didn't incorporate new or improved bugs!

i have this problem too and have started a thread about it...and its not just called warping cause sometimes they are crouched in a corner but they arent on my screen but my friends say they are

ive played since the demo days and have never had this problem...ITS not once or twice since 1.41 its all the time now...my frames are around 130 to 150 and my ping is around 47 to 61 so its not lag

I've had that problem ever since the retail came out (or maybe 1.1 or something.)

its not NEW, its not because of 1.41, its just the game itself, i guess to lower lag\frame rates cuz i guess it sorts of ghosts the terrorist ( idunno about other human players) so that you don't get extra lag and low FPS (cuz it takes bandwidth to syncronize every single tango on the map to EACH player, and remember each tango counts as a player [if you host a server you understand what i'm saying])

Besides popping tangos (I only play co-op, so never really paid attention to players) there's also the Neo thingy (from Matrix).
That is, tangos tend to run very smoothly without the running motion, as if he's a frozen statue just floating around. It's almost impossible to hit these tangos. We've had it since really early versions but with 1.41 it happens much more frequently now. We call these tangos Neo's or The One, for their ability to dodge bullets........ :P
(BTW, we attribute this to the server, as our server isn't terribly high-end.)
Then also starting with 1.41, I noticed that a significant number of the time, I see weapons floating in mid air, and half a second later the tango holding the weapon pops up. Now I have no problems with this since it gives me an advantage --- these tangos don't react until their bodies materialize. XP But it is a problem, nevertheless.
Lastly is the pop-up tangos (together with weapon). Also seems to happen more with 1.41.
Interestingly, on our server we never used to have people not been able to see specific tangos. Only with 1.41, we had the first case of a player who simply can't see a tango until the player is dead, while at the same time everyone else can see the tango.

I was under the impression that it was the game. Im order to help game performance, the game only draws the enemies once they come into view, and sometimes it can be a little late in drawing them, hense it appears that they just appear.

Actually it's all brand new to me. I was on Airport last night in the small room at the terminal building with the little window facing the parking lot. I heard the last guy coming down the stairs from the hangar building, even heard him run right up close to me, yet he didn't appear till he was only about 10 feet from me. It's happening to me only in these last 2 patches.
Besides PB things are only getting worse. In 1.4 they tried to trick us into believing the netcode was being fixed with the immediate firing animation, Now they're giving us a "toggle" so we can choose whether or not to see the ghey netcode at work. I might have considered competing in AS if Ubi would've only handled things with RvS better, but who am I kidding HL2 will pwn it anyways.

Yep--brand new to me too. Never had the prob before 1.4
and it appears to be happening more frequently in 1.41.
