Now I am a bit of a Sniper Hater. It's true.

I'm not a full blown Hate everything sniper and I am willing to concede there are places where sniping is useful. (Mostly those places are regulated to other team where their very nature isn't dragging down my team resulting in a loss.....) -Yes that's a Joke

But for the most part I find sniping counter-productive. This probably stems from the fact that (In my mind) If your sniping, your not attacking. I am an aggressive guy, I don't believe in sitting back and racking up kills. Not when we need people on the point and not when sitting back means giving them ground.

I believe if I am not pushing the enemy back, then they are pushing me back.

And really that is what it all boils down to, the whole Front line philosophy strategy.

Sniping is a defensive tool. I like it best when we are defending the onslaught maps and people are able to tag opposing players causing them to dive for cover or kill them before they get on the point.

However once they are on the point, snipers go back to be useless in my mind (Unless of course your willing to go up and clean off the point yourself, in that case you are a Hero, continue on sir)

Now the best kind of Players in my mind are the ones that constantly move up, getting better positions, getting on Point, killing whoever tries to push up and then counter pushing into their forces constantly rocking them back. However this type of play isn't always practical for a Sniper. Which goes back to the point of why I dislike snipers.

What really grinds my gears is when we are losing and we have 3-4 snipers sitting back just giving up ground just so they can get an extra kill or two from long range and I know if we just had that extra 1-2 people up front pushing we could win.

Now i'm not trying to piss in anyone's Oatmeal and if sitting back and shooting is your thing by all means, don't let me wreck your parade.

As long as your willing to push and constantly move up your alright in my book.

But if you stop and give ground while we are losing!

THE BEARD WILL FIND YOU

a x1 large zoom reflex on a SVD ? are you serious

Levgueni Dragunov will rage in his grave if he see that .

my SVD have a decent 12X max zoom , and for counter sniping like u do , nothing better than a SMG like the russian BIZON PP19 (53 bullets magazine ) or the belgian P90 (50 bullets magazine ) .u take down 5 or 6 guys in one set. after that u can start a capture.

its way better to use the rof of 15 bullets/sec with 40% damage bullets of the P90 than the 2 bullets/sec with 95% damage of the SVD .miss one bullet and ur dead.
and on your video it took you 7 bullets of the SVD to get that blitzer . if i was the specialist comming after , i would recognize with no doubt the typical (GRO)sound of the SVD , where it come from, and u where dead the sec after .

the GRO maps are full of place with no access or difficult acces for the opposite team, and where the snipers (like me) loves to shoot from , unless u have a good 12X zoom, to counter it from the opposite side.

Yeah without having a true Medium Range Submachinegun (I know the PP-19 and the PP2000 come close by having low ROF, but still have way too much recoil) that can do more than pelt people at range which gives them a lot more time to react than the double tap from the SVD.

And in a pinch I can use it to make some much longer shots.

Plus I keep track of who dies and who kills who, so I see one of my teammates drop to a sniper I figured he just got silly and exposed himself. I don't think to check my own spawn for the sniper.

As for me missing 7 shots on the Blitz guy, yeah. That's more of an issue with the stability of the snipers themselves while trying to run and gun with them. I've got a whole article feedback about it here: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/689881-Crow-s-Phase-3-Closed-Beta-Feedback-(now-with-video-and-waffles)

Unless your completely stabilized aiming directly at the person results in misses most of the time, so you have to counter this by over-aiming. (kind of like over steering but with a rifle) If your sweeping left you have to Aim just to the left of the guy to hit him dead mass and back and forth it goes. The problem was and your right I was Stablized and should of been aiming for right on rather than walking it back and forth. If you notice my fifth, sixth and seventh shots were dead on as I compensated for this but of course only the last 2 counted.

And i'm cool with people staying up in towers shooting away (well at least on the opposing side) because if they are up there shooting, they are no where near as effective as they could be by being down here with the rest of us. =)

The Important issue's are necessarily that I was using a gun with which site it's that your willing to constantly Push, putting your enemy on their heels, taking ground and capping the point.

And I run Red-dots on just about all the snipers. Ya outta see what I did with a MSR-C

Yesterday i played on the defending team, took SMG (the level 5 one), rushed up left tower killed somebody in the stairs, then the snipers on the bridge, went down right stairs and killed the campers there. You dont need high level weapon for this, i don't know why everybody quits when they see some level 30 guys in the enemy team.

The higher level weapons are not nearly as important as higher level armor.

With the higher level armor everything gets more effective: Cloak, Aegis, Blackout, Blitz your damage resistance and movement in general.

I think people are still used to the old school way of thinking where they would rather abandon a losing match because they either:don't want the stats for losing, figure it's a waste of time if you lose, that the RP/XP isn't worth it if you lose, or the universe hates them.

I dunno.

I am a hardcore camping sniper... as crow will gladly second... that being said... I'm also willing to move up with my pistol and have some fun... his kernels of truth are actually golden nuggets of truth that many need to accept ^.^ (but remember I'll gripe all day if I got a specialist sitting back trying to snipe with his LMG while I have to push with my redhawk).

Nice attempt!

But you could polish your cloak consumption length a little. You seem to burn through the entire thing unecessarily. Still a good job though, gg :)
