Shouldn't the request be presented to UBI's marketing department? I thought developers were forbidden from disseminating information or conversing with the community?

I think it is to know if the developers are ready to show something or not, if they have something ready or not.
Anyway if we got the same reply of "soon", I hope we can know exactly how soon, cause Jade Raymond kept saying SC6 news coming soon for over 6 months.

Every game has it's own matketing department..they are part of "the Patriots team", that pixie pokes..
If they want, then they could start making a compilation of footage right now and present it to us within 2 weeks..
@ntione did the same in grfs..

Apparently my sarcasm was not obvious. Once upon a time, the actual developers were active on the UBI forums. In alot of cases you could ask a question and it would get answered. Now days the only answers we get are "please send your problems to support" or "I'll ask and get back to you" then "sorry there is no information on that topic yet"........My point is from the original question and EvilPixie's response, don't expect just because we the community wants information has anything to do with UBI actually releasing any information. They will release information according to their plan, regardless of how bad we want information. I just found it funny as if by her asking for info that we would get anything out of it.

owwww...:p haha
Well athenian, maybe we do get some info..
Pixie is not the BS'ing type of girl and i know she will ask them..
Your an old timer here, but when i look back on the last tom clancy titles, it's everything BUT according to plan.
It has been 8 months since the last footage and 5 years since vegas 2!, so by now i'm pretty sure that they must understand how important it is, to start giving some info to the fans..

haha you are the one at fault with such serious talk :D, joking.
Anyway I totally agree, this happens every time, it is not Pixie's mistake, but Ubi's, they cut all contact with their fans till they want to open channels, and even then they don't give all the answers.
On the other hand it seems the whole Com.Dev thing is getting better and better, first Antonie who used to support GRFS forums with weekly Q&A and Videos, he did some great work, Ubi.Brock as well, then we got Ubi.Zack on SCB who is also doing a great job from interviews to wallpapers to promises, ..............etc, so probably R6P will have a Com.Dev who is engaged with the community.
As for the info what I want to know is really simple, 1- Is the game doing through a total change like SCC & GRFS or not ?!, 2- when can we expect to see new footage of the game ?! ((and they better not tell me 'Soon', I hate that word, cause in Ubi's dictionary it can take half a year and still count as soon))

Why are you acting like you are so concerned about how much is being changed in Patriots when you thought Future Solder was "amazingly well done" anyway? Also, the term "soon" is interchangeable with the term "a bit later", which is what the CEO said at last years E3 when he was asked in an interview when we can expect some news on Patriots, which turned out to be November. The term "soon" can mean this year as well. We're already half way through the year, if November isn't soon enough for you then you are being impatient, especially since the game is supposed to be going through changes.

well GRFS first showing had a more gritty-down-to-reality kinda feeling, it looks different in the final version, but I hoped the carry out with the older version, when the changes happened and the game was totally different I asked on the forum why did they change it, a moderator told me ((can't remember who, probably Mush)) that I didn't voice my liking to the older build, and most of the feedback was negative to how it looked, hence the change, this is why I am stating my opinion regarding R6P, cause I don't want it changed so much like GRFS did ((even though the final version of GRFS was really good))

Can you link me to the article that says we will get information on November ?!, cause what I read was This (http://www.vg247.com/2012/06/07/ubisoft-rainbow-six-patriots-still-in-development), so mention of November or what not.
I am not being really impatient, but I want real talk and true word, SCB for exmaple we got the word 'soon' so many times, and ended up waiting a whole year to see it at E3-2012, I for one thinks we will start getting info regarding R6P next year, probably even after SCB, I would love the developers to prove me wrong.
First time we got the word 'Soon' regarding SC6 (http://www.vg247.com/2011/10/19/raymond-existing-ips-allow-studios-to-test-new-ideas-splinter-cell-info-in-coming-months), and we didn't even get a teaser or anyting, we saw the game at E3-2013 -- June, I doubt 8 months are Soon.

More gritty and realistic? You mean this trailer?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzxb3avUK2g
Yes, a trailer full of imaginative weapons and equipment is very realistic indeed. A game just being "gritty" isn't going to cut it. Lots of games are "gritty" and the Ghost Recon franchise has always been so, so it doesn't mean a **** thing to me. Not much has changed in Future Solider from looking at this announcement trailer, so little in fact that its not even worth mentioning.

Never said we will for sure, I said its a possibility.

Lets see, this article was published in October of last year and SC6 was shown at this years E3 last month (I'm sure you meant E3 2012 and not 2013). So they promised you would get information soon or within the "coming months" for SC6 and you got it six months later. That didn't take long at all, so you are impatient. Apparently, soon to you means the next month or something.

The original GRFS idea had me excited. Workin with somewhat futuristic tech made it feel believable IMO. I mean yes the shoulder mounted ticket launchers were a bit much but it had something that made it seemingly so much more appealing. It had the atmosphere down perfect. It felt tense, it felt like a Ghost squad, serious, and believable (though futuristic). Now GRFS feels like a super lethal game of paintball, no tension, no believability. So on that aspect I far preferred the 2010 version. Just my two cents.

OT: I'll take a wicked guess at predicting that new info will be out by either November or December as I'm pretty sure that they'll want to release information as close to the end of the year as possible since they seem to be going for a late 2013 release date.

Nope this one:

Alot has changed, if you can't see it, that's your problem, everyone is entitled to his opinion, but most would agree that there is difference between GRFS-2010 & GRFS-2012, also let's not go there with the whole unrealistic things, it has been discussed to hell in the GRFS-Forums, heck even the cameo is based on real concept, so more or less it is based on realistic 'concepts'.
Never said we will for sure, I said its a possibility.

yes Soon is more of 2 or 3 months, not 6 or 8 months, and I am not impatient, but I don't like someone telling me in Oct.2011 that I will get information soon, then in March.2012 tells me soon again, then in April.2012 again, if you won't show it fine by me, don't keep people hanging thinking in a couple of months you will show something.
Soon = Couple of months, not a half a year or something, and this is being rational not impatient.
But if you can't shake your belief that I am not impatient then fine by me, I am impatient for you, nothing wrong with that when it comes to on'es favorite series.

I wonder if they will release 2 Tom Clancy games in one year, IMO that would be amazing, SCB &R6P --- that would be a big WIN.

Not saying their "plans" are set in stone, they change as does almost any plan does, but it's still UBI's "plan". It just has nothing to do with the "communities" expectations, wants or needs. We could scream, cry, whine, beg, kick puppies or even go as far as acting civilized and asking politely, it won't change how or when information is released about Patriots. Hence my sarcasm when Pixie said she will go ask. Do you really think UBI holds onto information just for the sake of waiting until someone asks for it? They have to maximize the effect of every piece of information they release because marketing is not cheap nor are the people who do it.

Well, I just don't like hypocrites that's all. I've been seeing a lot of fakes pretending to be fans of the franchise lately. Looking at how Future Solder and Conviction turned out it irritates the hell out of me because it seems these fakes are the only ones Ubi Soft is paying attention to while ignoring those that are called "hardcore", those that liked what these franchises used to be all about. But then again, I shouldn't be surprised because most of the "hardcore" fanbase has given up on the Tom Clancy brand anyway and have moved on with games like Takedown, which wouldn't exist had it not been for Ubi Soft throwing the whole concept of the older games under bus in the first place. I agree that they may show something by the end of the year as well. In any case, we'll see if Patriots is actually recognizable as a real Rainbow Six game in any way when they have something to show, however unlikely.

It's really funny how you think it is totally okay to call people hypocrites or fakes fans just cause they like things you don't like.
I am glad Ubisoft gave up on your so called 'hardcore' fans, if every one of them is like you, then yeah Ubi should definitely stop caring about.
Luckily I know alot of hardcore fans who are far from the likes of you.
Have a nice day.

where do you read that i think ubisoft is holding back info, until someone asks for it?.Don't insult me man.
Again the neglet of this title is my major point of it all..they really owe it to the fans, who are still coming to these forums every day and haven't seen another R6 game since 2008.
That beeing said, you can't finally show footage and interviews and then let the fans go **** themselves for 8 months.
Marketing is not cheap?..it's not expensive either..they allready have marketing people walking around for patriots and all they have to do is create a compilation of footage and put it on the i-net.
Marketing is not only for the fans, but also for advertising there product.
Again Antione did the same for FS and when you look at Blacklist and AC and what not, you get enough footage and info..

My point is if UBI has information to release. They will release it on their terms, not because people on their or anybody else's forums are asking for. If there's news to be released, why would they release it on the forums first which has a very limited audience?

@Evil @Mush - rather than make a new topic I'll bump this one, but can we get any sort of idea what's going on at this point. Determining direction, project leads or nothing at all? I'm fine if you report that there's nothing, but we'd all like to know what exactly is going on. Hope that doesn't sound too demanding but we would like some sort of info, anything at all really.

The only reason UBI's own forums have a very limited audiance is because they DON'T realease anything here until it's already been to all of the other news and gaming sites.
Trust me, years ago, before UBI had policies that employees working on the games weren't allowed to post, there were tons of fans in here and actual bi-directional conversations. Of course, that all ended during the development of R6 Lockdown.
What are the odds a fan posts game news in here before anyone from UBI?

Probably a lot better than 50/50.
Especially since news on updates and server issues and the like for GRFS are posted on facebook and twitter by Ubi but not on the forums... you know, the place where the game's users might think to check?
