Yeah I saw the whole series while it aired on TV. Unfortunately it only ran for a few seasons, but it was one of my favorite shows. I always thought that the guy who plays Mack on the show (Max Martini) would make a good Sam Fisher if Splinter Cell was ever made into a movie. In fact I wish they went with him instead of Eric Johnson if they had to replace Michael Ironside. Max Martini is closer to Sam's age and has more experience in doing combat scenes in film. He also LOOKS more like Sam. He just gives more of a presence as a Special Forces operator than Eric Johnson does. When I see Eric Johnson I think of Lana Lang's idiot jock boyfriend in Smallville.

I'm supporting Ubisoft's direction and choice with Eric Johnson, but I'm just saying that I think there are better options they could have gone with.

This show was really good up until the fourth (and final season when it went off rails in believability).

Only problem with it were those wife storylines. sometimes they took up entire episodes!

But the missions the men had were a pretty good combo of Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. There was plenty of mission variety, too. hostage rescue, diffusing bombs, extractions, assassinations, protecting foreign dignitaries, capturing HVTs, preventing terror attacks, etc. or run of the mill stuff like protecting a pop star entertaining the troops in Iraq or a day at the firing range/room clearing practice.

It's worth a look
