I Lost Everything For No Reason, What Happened

I went to play offline today and I noticed all my weapons were missing except for a few pistols and the scar and none of them were upgraded even though I had upgraded almost every weapon before. I dismissed as a cloud save issue so I waited until my internet came back up. When it did I went to play again as usual but all my weapons except for the 3 pistols and scar were gone. I checked my deniable ops stuff and several outfits were missing and none of them were upgraded. Finally, I checked the PEC challenges and none of them were completed either. The only thing that remained was the four weapons, my story progress, and my DLC.

My question is, why the hell did I loose all of my crap for playing offline and can it be fixed?

This is the reason! Every time you start the game offline, it (or Ubi Launcher) rewrites your online savegames. So you need manually change savegame folders from offline to online and vice versa. Also you can't access to DLC in offline. And this is one of the main reasons why the game works like that.

Check this thread (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/659001-Splinter-Cell-Conviction-has-offline-mode-on-PC!-(but-it-has-issues-also-()) out. I tried to describe this issue there. They ruined this game because of DRM, DLC and offline mode.

I started a thread before reading this...So because i started the offline mode once because the great ubi servers were down they screwed me over?
Great just great...If the technical support refuse to help than i will send them a nice letter telling them how ************************************************** ************************************************** **************...
Eh lesson learned...Never ever start offline mode in an ubisoft game because they will screw you over and enjoy it...-.-

DO NOT PLAY OFFLINE. happened to me too :( i lost everything and my game was 100& complete (all pec,realistic,deniable ops,weapons) i contacted support but there was no way to get the save back because it was overitten.

Great...Than no more splinter cell for me.
How can they screw up their game so much?
At least i expect them to give me the extra armor (E3 elite and Shadow armor) and the mp7...Is there a way to at least get those or i am screwed?

Eh lesson learned...Never ever start offline mode in an ubisoft game because they will screw you over and enjoy it...-.-
I guess, other Ubisoft games work perfectly in offline mode, i.e. I have Assassin's Creed 2, AC:Brotherhood, AC:Revelations, Driver:San Francisco. Offline mode doesn't have any issues in these games.

Because they lied to us when they said that it's possible to easily change their crazy DRM from online to offline. Because when they made Conviction DLC unlock system they made it incompatible with offline mode.

Nope! Backup your online savegames before playing the game in offline mode!

When Ubi game launcher says that it can't connect to Ubi servers and will start the game in offline mode, you need to back up your online savegames before pressing the PLAY button.

Its not working, when i try to activate them again the game is asking for a promo/reedem code :S

Weird! When I start the game online after loosing all progress I still can unlock all content in EXTRAS - EXCLUSIVE CONTENT menu.

I mean, I can see the list of my available unlockables, when I click on them, the game unlocks them for me.
