Underwater combat: Included or not?

I guess we have all seen the E3 demo, really awesome and particularly enjoyable, but it also included some few seconds that made me wondering "Why not". You've understood, I'm talking about the underwater combat.
First, I'm refering to the scene where Jason kills a pirate by stabing him in the water, showing that he can use his weapon in. So, since the aquatic world will be potentially dangerous (crocodiles maybe/sharks surely), I wanted to know if Jason will be able to attack underwater.
I'm not talking of some submarine machine gun, just some attacks with the knife. As an example, if you're chased by a shark, you could eventually fight him and maybe win, saving your life. It would also mean that you could hunt for underwater creatures and gather some stuff on them.
I don't know what is the official position about that, even if I'm almost sure that it's impossible to attack underwater, but maybe it could change. And you, what's your point of view?

Yes but you are seen (and smelt) by other things way more creepy. That's from these that Jason must fend off.

I guarantee you there will be underwater combat with a knife at least. If there are predators in the water, you have to be able to defend yourself, plus the e3 vid you mentioned. It makes sense and Id be willing to bet on it if I wasnt so broke lol.

Was it a multiplayer interview or about the whole game? Because you won't be swimming all the time in MP, what you'll do in SP. And since there is no animals in MP, there's no need to fight underwater.

The question on using the knife in water was asked under Multiplayer - so maybe it can be used in Single player (we will have to wait and see)

I think we should at least get a knife kill animation..... Seems kinda awkward struggling to get to shore just to kill a man. We DID just see the animation in the E3 Ubi conference. Why not just throw that in quick and dirty?

I know I know... It's not that easy.

I try to address this before not only for tge benefit of the game as a whole but to make better tactical use of water in custom maps....

Broken game if you can only swim in the water as its a fighting game you cannot have places where yoh cannot fight anymore?

Personnaly, I don't care if we can't fight underwater in MP, but in SP, it's quite essential!
