Are the naval battles in this game just scripted? Or will there be enemy ships sailing around and you can take your ship and destroy them whenever you want? I have always wanted to play a game with that sort of thing in it. Thanks for your help!

From what has been said in the navel battles demo, it's completely open and un-scripted, which is good. It will also be free-roam accessable, which means we'll be able to go play Pirates any time we want, even after the campaign (hopefully)

Thanks for the reply! That gives me hope haha, the only thing that worries me is that I just read an article saying "there are a couple of ship- based outings in the main storyline, says lead game designer Steve Masters, but lots more in side missions."

To me that sounds like there will be a few main story (and side missions) that take place on the boat, however you'll be able to access it at any tiime you want in free roam. The only thing I can't think of as a comparison is Capadocia in Revelations, whe the story demands for you to go there but afterwards you can return at any time

From what I've heard you'll be able to free-roam with the ship anytime you want.

Please don't ask me why... But it reminds me of that old PS2 game Sly 3. You could do the samething there in one of the worlds.
I really don't know why. Perhaps its the parkour in Venice that both Sly 3 and AC2 had.
They just have some similarities (so could it mean... That Assassin's Creed is inspired by an old PS2 title:eek:)
