Dear Ubisoft,
I have always been an avid Splinter Cell fan. I loved lurking in the shadows and waiting for the right moment. It is really disappointing that you are choosing to go with the modern "action rollercoaster" type of a game. Having defined genres very important. An example: When I am watching a horror movie I dont want to have romantic commedy in it. I will watch a commedy later (or never if it is not my favourite genre). The same goes for games. When all games are a combination of all genres, they will look the same. I remember playing first 3 Splinter Cells like it was yesterday, but I just cannot recall the last two because they were so.. generic.

After watching most E3 presentations, I can say that your game has nothing else to offer than the other titles. Same games, different stories. Splinter cell, Hitman, Tomb Raider, Dead Space, Assassins Creed. How are you different from the rest?

I see the direction you are going. The direction of least resistance. Having a game accessible for everyone is not the way to go. Not everybody likes everything. That is why we have FPS, RTS, Stealth, RPG...

And the sad truth? Your game will sell. Oh how it will sell! Metacritis score will be at least 80% from the "serious reviewers" and at most 40% from the users. And I know you will not care.

I am not sure if you have some community managers monitoring the forums, taking care of your fans (like a propper company should have), but I hope this fan letter reaches at least someone connected to the game and not just other fans posting/flaming on this forum.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Jirka

P.S. Will I be able to finish a level withou killing anyone (unless an assassination is my main objective)?
