Should we consider this a reboot?

Forgive me if you don't like the idea, (and of course it isn't really cannon to the story), but with a new voice actor, different gameplay style elements, as well as Sam Fisher looking like he just lost 15+ years of aging (by certain character model looks, not all). Would you consider this perhaps maybe being a "reboot" of sorts? To or not to your pleasure, please explain and be courteous to each other.

Conviction matched up perfectly to Double Agent.
It has been confirmed that this game takes place 6 months after Conviction.

To consider this game a reboot or "not cannon" would be to consider everything after Double Agent non-cannon.

No, but I've always considered its predecessor a "soft" reboot (e.g. The Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton to Ang Lee's Hulk), meaning that it has all the trappings of a reboot, but continuity is still barely acknowledged with one or two token references . In Conviction, these were the mentions of Lambert and Sarah being dead, and we all know how one of those ended up.

No. A reboot is when it gets rid of all the excess and fluff and goes back to its roots and its core essence. This game doesn't go back to its root themes, regardless of what Jade Raymond said, in fact it goes completely off the rails.

I think it was outright ballsy to lead off with the AGGRO and take all the abuse head on, that was GOING to come regardless (unless they reskinned CT and added new maps), instead of meekly trying to appease a Hardrcore fan base that generally doesn't appear to be capable of any sort of compromise.
