Rampant Michael Bay BS aside the trailer gives us a glimpse of some cool new features:

1. Mini Drone - Little controllable drone that acts like a mobile sticky cam and apparently can attach to walls and such to act like a classic sticky cam (@Sage and Sameer HOLY EFF they did it!)

2. Rappelling - This makes a comeback (**** yes!) more dynamic this time and allows you to do some Rainbow Six style infils.

3. Campaign Coop (?): 2nd player could be Vic...plus that black guy seemed like another choice for a coop partner

4. Echelon support: the old voice in the ear is back and I like it.

5. Underbarrel launcher: Stuff will be launched

The trailer was ok. The storyline looks DECENT but still iffy. Going from such a personal storyline like Conviction to this just feels off. And I still cannot see that as Sam. He doesn't even look like him.

Am I the only one seeing the resemblance with the suit he's wearing?

LOL'd at the spider and that lady straight out of The Tribunal from Metalocalypse. They're trying way too hard and it looks lousy as a result.

What is up with Sam's face when he says "Welcome to Fourth Echelon"? Sam never really had a consistent look, but he looks like a completely different person now.

Pandora Tomorrow: Fisher wasn't even able to tell his best friend where he is working and for what organisation he is working.
Blacklist: Now he tells it even to a Stranger.

You may call me picky here because actually it's just a Debut Trailer which is building on the style of presantation of Hollywood Action movies and I know this won't be in the game but it does give a first impression of the game.

well I take it they only saved that guy to recuit him. Still doesn't make much sense.

What's the stranger going to do? Tell everyone about Fourth Echelon?

Ugh. Terrible. Mobile sticky cam seems cool as does rappelling as does the launcher. But the context in which they were used. Just ugh.

Trailer was pretty crap IMO...and as for Sam...I'm just going to call the new guy Tom and pretend he is a new field agent.

Agreed

The takedowns in the initial segment made me wince. Not good. I hope theres none of that BS in game.

No. Not necessarily. It's just lack to detail.
He was interrogated by some people who may not be the one who should know about Fourth Echelon. The guy seems to be an important one so they could get him again and get these information. The same goes for the interrogation style in Conviction. It's present in the Demo too and the guy sees Sam's face but at least he kills him afterwards so this guy cannot tell anybody that "Sam" was there.

Shobit and I agree on something! HOLY-- haha

See? This is what I feel the gameplay was like Shobit -- like they added in features from past games but the context in which they're present don't seem to match up. I don't want to have arguing matches with people on here: we all love SC. some love the older games way more than others, some love SCC way more than the older ones, some like the two equally, and some like certain aspects from SCC but prefer the older ones overall.

I feel that simply moving bodies and luring enemies is not enough to say "see? it's all the classic moves!" and call it a day. They need to make it FEEL like classic SC. Make a good stealth game with action overlaid on that. THAT would be ideal. For those that want, they could seamlessly go in and out of battle, predator style and take out enemies like a panther, others could shoot their way through and lastly, the stealthy players would be able to truly ghost and feel like it was worth it since the base game was designed with stealth in mind. But they haven't done that here.

LOL :D

The only point of contention I have with you is regarding the absence of a more traditional approach in Blacklist. I think that it will have scenarios that will echo of SC1-3. Hang on and give it a chance.
