Hi,

I just read on your Twitter feed that the BETA is likely to happen around July or August? Really? August? realeasing a BETA one month before the game is due to ship? Don't get me wrong, but you are hardly going to be able to modify anything during the BETA based upon the player feedback, this smacks of updates and patch's when the game is released..

It would not surprise me if when players are experiencing the BETA, the disks for the game are already being pressed..

Oh well, i live in hope..

it could get delayed but they are sticking firm on release date at present....

Better to have a BETA than not have one apparently it was quite solid the mechanics for what they had at PAX East so perhaps they are confident that theres not much that can go wrong... Only online experience patches and balance issues

we thought that too on GRFS. what we have now is awful and embarrassing for Ubisoft/Red Storm.
they told us its "just a beta" we wrote over 100 pages of issues and in the retail there were almost all bugs and glitches like in the beta. even the servers have the same issues and even more problems.

we saw in the FC3 MP vids that it looks good and it seems like there are no problems yet. but then its alll about the servers and how they manage to get rid of the bugs

the BETA is basically a stress test, yeah you might find issues but a month just to fix bugs is about right.

Im just getting reminded of the horrific experience that was the Battlefield 3 BETA, i know i cant really compare the two, but you know..:P

Well, here's hoping that the Dev's are right in this choice, and that it doesn't come back to bite them in the ***..

Surprisingly well polished alpha... Was what came back from PAX East if I remeber right.... More or less unanimous from many reviewers

So as long as they have not added too much more to it... It should be solid... Over 2 years in development

Weighing it up I trust that they would do the BETA Earlier if they really needed it and it would be an open BETA too.

It's seems more of a fan service at the momment but there are still positives even if they feel confident on the matter

well at least BF3 had almost non of the issues which it had in the beta. like under the map falling players. players with 2m long necks n stuff

in GRFS there was almost no change which im worried about cause these 2 games ( FC and GR ) are ubisoft games and they use same servers and follow the same marketing strategies and work the same way

well you have every right for concern if you are more or less buying it for MP and map maker...

But It would be an open beta if there were really big problems like the ones you mentioned I think

u have to think about that the beta had 600.000 players which is like the 10x amount of the retail players. but the servers still dont work correctly.

i wasnt complaining about the beta but about the retail, because the did nothing. it was a closed beta but actually everyone had the chance to get a code easilly like u see in the amount of players which had played it

alot of stock footage was used in every review so I do agree you have reason to be concerned as I remember thinking I keep watching the same stock footage again and again not somone playing and the mechanics they were talking about did not seem to be present

i.e. teamplay perks and battle crys I did not see anyone do that on the live demo screens

i watched OFF screen gameplay which was as good as the stock footage so we can hope that it will be a decent beta. well it was PC so i cant say how it will be for me on console

Are you expecting a millenium bug ?

1 month is more than enough to fix some minor issues

You have a really good point in the original post, but as it was said, it's just a stress test. To fix servers. Basically, the fundamentals of the game are gonna be down in stone by that time, and only tiny tweaks that are easily made will be made. Mainly it's focus is on server strength.

Yeah, it takes a lot longer than a month to fix major bugs. Unless the developer cares. Even InfinityWard, (One of the laziest on planet earth) took decent care of MW3 post-release.. I'm expecting a lot out of Ubisoft.

1 month is plenty of time to troubleshoot and find glitches etc..

The core gameplay - wont change though, the beta is for finding the odd thing that needs tweaking and a stress test for the servers..

I know many are comparing this with Ghost Recon Future Soldier, however you shouldn't compare them..

Many people who played the GRFS beta, wanted major changes, new game modes, first person, no cover and many other things outside of a beta test.

In GRFS they did tweak game modes, weapon balance and other things, however not everyone was happy with the core game to begin with...

There has been one patch but many server tweaks, for GRFS (that game they can adjust many game settings via a cloud server)

So it's not that fair to compare them both..

A beta is a beta for a very precise reason, this one is for stress testing according to our dear Com Dev.

Im sure some people won't understand that, and demand major changes or game modes, so some negative posts may pop up.
