nothing last forever op. and zipper died years ago. honestly, socom really isnt that good. controls suck, A.I. suck etc. go back and play it and then go back and goldeneye(which sucks). everything fades.

The older Socoms controls were incredible. It had many different control set ups that allowed you to get comfortable with them. It had many different aiming and sensitivity customizations also. The shooting mechanics were very tight and recoil based. That's more than I can say for this game. In GRFS too many actions are mapped to the same bu ttons and there is ZERO customization.

Unlikely. The last fun Zipper game I played was MAG. The last fun Ubisoft game I played was Driver:SF. Still playing it actually. Ubisoft is much larger than Zipper so its probably not gonna die. Red Storm on the other hand could die if this game doesnt sell well.

The older Socoms are way better than the newer ones. Especially Socom 4, I bought that game played it for like a month and then got bored of it. It just didnt feel like a Socom game.

I agree, RSE will likely suffer major consequences when/if GRUFUS sells poorly. The sad thing is though, that it was under the direction of Ubisoft to can the Ghost Recon they made, and work on something new. It's all on the business people, not the worker bees who were working as directed, if this game is deemed a flop.

This is true in so much that Ubisoft are taking a successful formula and changing it (or gambling) on bringing in a larger customer base whist giving the bird to the long time fan.

They'll ultimately sacrifice brand, quality and integrity in the process and will end up with a similar end result as Zipper. Brand dead, new and old customer base disappointed and looking for a new home.

This game will be an aslo ran and it will be dead within 6 months. The pre-order quantities have forced their hand and brought forward DLC which indicates the beginning of the end already.

Well to be honest, niether of us do, do we?
I would assume it depends on:
1. the game
2. what news come out about said game between the time of pre-order and release,
3. the persons financial situration
4. any suprised release announcements.
5. pre-order bonus; is there enough reason to get the game on launch day or should one just wait a while (price drop or reviews)

Aw i hope redstorm never dies. When I played the demo for rainbow six I was over the moon with that. Ground breaking stuff what they put into that game. To me it still beats alot of tactical shooters now. Too bad they hit a high and then spread off from that high, instead of taking it further and expanding on the great honest games that made them so brill.

I think what Bassie52 is saying, yes this is a FORUM, a point of discussion; BUT most of the posts on this forums posting nothing regarding discussion but just CLEAR ranting!
In most threads I've seen, there has been nothing constructive when it comes to people complaining.

For proper discussion, people need to at least post a coherent argument for thinking to be discussed; rather than "ITZ SH*TZ COZ ITZ LIKE GOW/COD" like most of the threads and posts here.
But, it isn't just ending there; these people are continuing ranting the same thing rather than being constructive and moving on..... You can clearly see this through the amount of thread like "custom games", "how GRFS will die"....

There are a lot of parallels between GRFS and Socom4. Both changed up the gameplay and features in favor of appealing more to casuals. Both eliminated key gamemodes that people loved. Aside from a few, the maps were terrible in Socom4. Of course it remains to be seen in GRFS, but I hope to God the maps are closer to mill than pipeline. IMO its very fair to draw comparisons between the two franchises.

However, I do think, just from playing the beta, that GRFS is better designed than Socom4 and it seems they put more effort into it. Socom 4 was such a cookie cutter POS. The maps were poorly designed mirror images and there was really NOTHING new or fresh added to the gameplay. GRFS has some cool new features and it seems they at least tried to update the experience, as opposed to Zipper, who just rolled out a bland piece of garbage.

oh i know.. if you want i can sum up what they're doing. Venting frustration cause they haven't gotten what they want. But instead of sharing more specific productive things that other people can work off of, they attack and attack. I find it repetitive and counter-productive.. but I wouldnt suggest blacklisting them. Not all are kids though, some are adults who put faith in the developers and feel "betrayed" and stuff along those lines. Again, it's venting. Again.. it's appriopriate in my eyes that they are aware of it. Sometimes it get's really silly, but even when these threads get silly, there are off shoots of things that bring people together, hence a community. I don't believe telling people to shut up because they are frustrated, but that's personal opinon. I do think that if you're going to berate a game, you should atleast explain why you feel it's not working, and suggest something that could make it better.

Tbh, I hate reading threads of Devs getting thrashed. It's disrespectful and sorta just like finding an avatar to vent frustration because they haven't gotten what they want. Which is fine.. to a point. But blacklisting isn't the way to deal with it. You can hate on something, but if you can't even suggest a way to make it better, you're just hating and wasting time. ... still nothing really wrong with that. True. Look on the brightside Bassie, the childish ones complaining may seem demanding yet who knows, in person they may seem completely defenseless and average in person. Remember, one identity here will differ when the actual is seen.

Other than that, I have my hopes on GRFS achieving, 75% at the moment. The Campaign looks to be worth playing. Guerilla Mode too. Noting the requirement to play SP Campaign to unlock a weapon is a reason to give it a go. If Ubisoft considers adding a Bodark campaign, following the same story to that of the Ghosts' encountering, yet providing a bit of details on the Bodarks, I'll have yet another reason to spend time on the Campaign. As long as more maps, additional weapons, besides handguns and MP modes are in consideration, the game will progress and give reasons for gamers to keep going until the very end. (beyond Prestige Mode)

Now all their stuff is just trying to be anything but ghost recon or rainbow 6. They are not tactical or realistic like they used to be and fans of those games have a right to be pissed because if it wasnt for them they would have never made r6 or gr for the consoles. They became popular with PC players spreading the word about how good they were and what did they do? Shaft them by releasing the socom clone GR2 for consoles only. Then they released R6 lockdown.

In the past few weeks I see nothing but complaiing, whining and gamers getting up set over what....a GAME! Lets have perspective and realize life is way to short to worry about these kind of things. Is GRFS perfect....no and you cannot base everything on COD or the fact that it is a beta that were playing. I would like to see some more positive posts for thie game rather all of negative posts.

You also have to remember that MP isn't the only part of the game...there is the single player. co-op and the guerilla mode. So, I actually challange gamers to stop the complaining and whinning and stick up for the game for once and realize that Ubisoft did a good job and if we didn't have this game....many of you will be still playing COD or BF3 since they are the two main shooters on the market.

Won't happen because the 360 will save this game as far as recouping money back goes. Zipper only had the PS3 to work with and shooters are just not as big on PS3 compared t0 Xbox, especially TPS shooters. If Socom 4 was also on the 360, it would have sold much more.
