I might post regularly here about the some crazy things I discover in the engineering and science field. Im not entirely sure. I am a engineering/science junky, to say the least. I am studying Mechanical Engineering right now in school, so yeah. But anyway.

Heres my first post: This is so insane, that if he succeeds I would want to do it myself.

NEW POST: Friction/Inertia Welding

I learned about this method of fusion about a week ago in class. I though it was pretty cool and thought I should post it up. Check out this youtube vid.

NEW POST 3: Laser Scanner Welding

The truly cool thing about this, is that you cant see the laser as unlike in other lasering processes, that can potentially blind you if not careful.

NEW POST 4: Flesh Capsules

Um yeah pretty distrubing. Just Sayin.

NEW POST 5: Door Unlocks and Locks due to touch

This is pretty cool. The question becomes how secure can it be made. Maybe the same technology in fingerprint recognition could be coupled with this to provide security. But just think no more keyes to worry about.

NEW POST 6: More Secure Credit Card

Its amazing how everyday people are coming up with various ways to pay for stuff. Wether its Square, using near field communication, Google wallet, and now this. But to be honest this does seem like a feasible thing to make. A lot of people lose their credit cards, get them stolen, and what not every year. So yeah:

NEW POST 7: Robots is the name of the Game
I love robotics.

NEW POST 8: Watch dat flame

Personally I just remove the pot and adust flame while its completely visible, but im sure this little device would be handy for some people.

NEW POST 9: Dem dirty dirtty cell phones

All you cell phone users need to support and buy this gizmo. this is one of many reasons i hate cell phones.

New Post 13: Mad Science of Carbonite Special: THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND THE GHOSTS DEVICES

This post is here to introduce you guys to the technology behind the devices that are present in Ghost Recon Online. Yes, the devices available in Ghost Recon Online are real, and are being further developed as we speak. This post will be frequently updated until I have thoroughly covered each device: HEAT, Oracle, Cloak, Blackout. Aegis and Blitz will be put on the back burner, for I am fairly sure that forcefields are being researched but no where near prototype stage, and that the military will never have soldiers barging into places with a shield. In place of Blitz however, the Exoskeletons being researched and developed will be discussed.

Feel free to ask any questions, or post links that you find regarding the technology here as well.

Assault Devices:
HEAT - this is one of the more original devices being developed and researched. It is primarily a non-lethal active denial system, aimed at mob/crowd control. It is sparsely deployed in some units, but is mostly still being developed. At this stage it is a vehicle mounted device only, and far from being on the back of a soldier.

There are some fears and accusations that the device does cause damage to individuals in the short term and long term, but these accusations have yet to be proven.

When looking at the videos I found it funny at how instantly people cringed and ran when the device started up, but yet in GRO, the Ghost only get stunned and can still walk through, even though slowly.

Exoskeleton - The exoskeleton is a staple of the sci-fi to reality gear, that is coming of age as we speak. Currently there are several companies working on developing exoskeletons for soldiers to use so that they may carry more gear. Here is just one of many aticles regrding the subject.

Recon Devices:
Oracle - Oracle comes in many iterations in real life, along with many concepts of detecting enemies. There is the x-ray - as seen in game - and then there is the acoustical version that can locate individuals based on gun fire. Tialink and Spotter are two of many corporations work to develope awareness utilities for the governemnt to employ. Tialink allows soldier to see through walls, and is a wrist and or head mounted device. Spotter is a backpack carried device that will pick up individuals as they come within range and provides satelite feed back. Boomerang is the acoustical detector - it will determine the location of an individual based on muzzle sound the bullets sonic. It is primarily being usd to detect snipers Currently it is equiped to vehicles and is not man portable. Not to mention there are also motion detectors.

Cloak - the most marveled over, and most wanted technology. It renders a wearer invisible. The most basic way of doing is to have someone wear a device covered in small cameras that will reflect the surroundings and hence render the user invisible. Given how cunky his is engineers and scientist are trying to develope metamaterials, using things like carbon nanotubes, to work around the cameras.

Specialist Device:
Blackout - this is simplest of all the technologies. It is basically a man portable Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP). Which to date has not been succesffully fielded. It is not known if portable EMPs will be made, but it is most likely.

New Post 14: 30 times more efficient Heat Sink

Sandia's new heat sink combines the cooling fan and the heat into one. From demonstration and discussion of how it works, it appears that it may be the new solution to cooling off electronics, more efficiently and quietly. Take a look. My only question, which computer company will roll it out first????? And also, would you buy it - given this preliminary information?

New Post 15: Augmentations for your body - Retaining Water anyone

This is....um.. interesting. I don't know how big you guys are on augmentations and what not. But the world did have a water crysis - which we sorta are right now - would you doll out the cash o augment your body to retain water like a Camel???

The ghosts must have an air conditioner shoved up their butt.
