View Full Version : Are statistics going to be available outside of the game?

For example the Leaderboard statistics (kills/deaths/accuracy/headshots/captures/defenses/etc. etc.)

Will there be any kind of web interface to view these while not in game? I find them very interesting to peruse and think they could provide a benefit to the community (in the same way that the armory provides benefit to the world of warcraft community) - not to mention the boon they would be to recruitment and clans - as well as more casual players who continually get ruined by specific players - they could then analyze the strength(s) of a player and make adjustments to their gameplay to attempt to negate them.

One problem with leaderboards is that people will game the system just to get their name up there, either via hacks, boosts, exploits, or any means necessary. Most companies are very bad about policing this behavior. Hopefully, it wouldn't be a problem here.

Well the leaderboard functionality already exists within the game database - I was just inquiring if there were plans to make the information publicly available to the community, or at least for them to create their own web-based browsable/sortable display. Having recently taken a large number of web design courses, I must say the idea intrigues me greatly.

I'd like to see some kind of API for accessing the leaderboard statistics. Would be cool to make dynamic signature images with stats and such.

exactly. Plus all of the benefits to clans and 3rd party community sites.

I would be interested in making and maintaining a community site for this game - however I'm not about to invest the effort if what I feel would be the focal point, was not made available.
