Ubisoft announces tom clancy’s ghost recon future soldier pc release date

Today Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier for Microsoft Windows® PC will be available in stores and for digital download on June 15th.

PC version specific features: - PC high standard visuals (DX11 renderer, new Hi-Quality Assets, new Post Process Effects, multi-monitor solutions support, TriDef stereoscopic support). - DirectX11 enhanced: Tessellation (for soft 3D models), Compute Shaders-based realistic lighting (for Global Illumination), Volumetric Fog. - Online Widget: Party, Friends and Ghost Feed functionality can be accessed at any moment from any screen. - Extended party functionality: simplified and more flexible invitation system. - Party text Chat. - Uplay Friends system - Fully customizable controls for the localized keyboards A temporary broadband connection will be required for one-time product registration at first launch using the player Uplay account. From that point on, no permanent connection is required, except for online modes.

Mush, not sure why but you've posted the 15th as the release date, but the announcement on the website says the 14th. Do you know which one is accurate?

Kinda would like to know about this as well. Past few times I went to put some money down on my order, I asked them if they noticed about the release date change. So far they were not told anything outside of it being the 22nd. Even their website shows it for the 22nd still.

Went back to paying off my order, asked em one last time about the May 22nd release date to the June 12th others have posted. Same answer, so I guess if people that ordered from GS, end up getting that magical phone call stating their order is in on the 22nd, we'll be the (un)lucky ones?

I have always bought my PC games new from the shop or from online distributors - I have never pirated and never will. I'm glad that you've altered the requirements as I haven't bought any new games in a long time and I'm getting bored playing my old games & older titles over and over lol. The list of what I play dwindles as more and more games use some form of program-based DRM, so I end up cancelling pre-orders (Or just ignoring them altogether) and missing out on alot of new games.

I was about to ignore this game completely due to my hate for all forms of DRM (Especially permanent online requirement schemes). However I can just about tolerate this 'one-time' activation. Congratulations Ubisoft, you have gained a customer back & and a pre-order. Stick to this somewhat casual approach and I will keep supporting your products.

If this system proves popular could you apply the same one-time system or DRM-Free scheme to the other titles? I'd really like to buy HAWX 2 and the Assassin's Creed series, I've heard good reviews and would really like to play them.

Yes, the DRM change with Future Soldier is very good news. I spend 2+ hours commuting by train each day; the always online DRM prevented me from playing games that contained it during that commute. I'm very happy about the change.

I would really like some Dev clarification on the difference in release dates. Steam and Amazon claim June 15th, Gamespot and the GRFS website claim May 22nd. I would really like for the 22nd to be true across the board, and if so, please get steam to adjust their release date.

I'm no comp guru but if you were to relaese across the board at the same time ++ server fail so u release some here some there at diff times so that they can have a better idea as to asigning servers to kepp up with ALL of us who enjoy the killing fields. the only way that your answer makes sense is if you're telling it to idiots.

GRFS isn't being held back because of server shortages, its being ported. not some asinine ideal that they're actually holding it back because its going to be a huge success when the console versions are buggier then a house being fumigated.

This title is a rush job to make their Stock Quotas and the cash grab is biting them.

It's probably more so because they're trying to get the console port to work right on PC. Although they'd never say that in public...
