just saying. duplicating ghost recon's unique ideas on the way cloaking works in photoshop is nearly impossible from what i've seen. it's taken me 3 hours so far to just get a base for what i want (while indulging in various other distractions, of course)... still, any tips would be helpful and duly appreciated.

Well think of it as a three dimensional mosaic and breaking up the edge of the silhouette is actually the key. So you've piqued my curiosity, what are you trying to do exactly?

GAH. I took the easy way out before i saw your comment. Your idea is good, I may actually redo the cloak with a technique sort of like that just to get a much cleaner result. As for what it is, exactly, I'm doing, check the second page of the strike a pose event and you'll probably figure it out x)

Sadly that wouldn't work xD to get the cloak effect it needs to refract light, not just be slightly see-through. I happened to use an opacity close to 0 anyway, though xD

Well considering I sat down with an engineer over and over again for a week to help get the effect you see today, I would think the idea is a bit more than good. :P

True, but taking a picture as i had it and doing that was quite the challenge, and didn't work as well for the way i made it. it's a superb idea, nothing less, but only good for the way i did it xD sorry if it looked like i was underrating it :p
