I'm starting this thread for anyone that wants to talk about equipment/weapons that they think need balances or upgrades.
I'll start off by asking if there will be the ability to buy weapons with iron sights so that the player does not have to increase the price and also because the ironsights would be bbetter for stylistic purposes

I'm wondering why there are 3 different types of nearly every weapon in the game. Can't you just have the differences between the varieties be add ons to the weapons?

Its because each gun is short range, medium range, or long range. I do find it silly that each one isnt as customizable as the others though.

Couldn't the barrel differences and scopes, etc be attachments though?

Those are limitations to maintain balance. That way you don't put the best scope, the biggest clip, the longest barrel, a muzzle brake/silencer and a bipod or vertical grip on your gun, then run around spraying death. This would put anyone who doesn't craft the uber weapon of doom at a distinct disadvantage. It forces you to think about this-or-that and weight out the pros/cons.

Ah, I see. I'm too used to BF3 where there are only 3 slots for attachments, so attaching one thing means compromising another.

I don't know if this is misinformation or not, but in the full game are players going to have to "rent" the gun or do they get to buy them forever?

It says players will rent, but I don't know if it is correct.

I think the rent was in the game previously in past betas and has since been removed. If not, I doubt I'll play this game much.

How do you know which one is which? For example, I'd probably always want to get the longest-range assault rifles (assuming that means the most accurate / easiest to countersnipe with.

The ones that come with a scope/sight and long barrel are probably the ones meant for long range, the ones with a foregrip and short barrel are for short range, and the one with the medium barrel and nothing else is for medium range.

I don't know if the sight is supposed to be like this, but the iron sight for the Mk 16 appears to be too small. It was almost impossible to hit anything with it. Unfortunately I cannot provide a screen shot because I bought a sight for it a few games after I bought it, but it was almost impossible to keep a target while aimed down sights.

Actually when you click on the guns they will have different stocks and barrels. The short range gun has a short barrel, the medium range gun has a medium barrel, and the long range gun will have a long barrel. The attachments on the gun differ depending on the gun, so choose the right gun because each on can't have all the attachments.
PS sorry about the double post
