I just want to know how it's going to work. ACB had you turn on DLC's and would split the players based on if you bought the DLC. Which is fine, I do think it's only fair. If I bought the DLC and you didn't why should you be able to play on the new maps. I would just be wasting my money for someone else to take my rewards then. So, do I buy the DLC and play with others who have bought it as well or do I not buy the DLC and still get to play because they don't want to split people up and someone else has bought it for me ??? Can anyone help me out with this one????

Thanks Kuttre28

Bump. Someone needs to explain this.

The way it works is from the Multiplayer menu, select "Simulation Category" where you choose the kind of modes you want to play (Free for All, Team Objectives etc) and there is a category for the DLC called "Extra Content Maps". So basically if you have the DLC and want to play the new maps you select that category and then choose the mode you want to play from there. Hope this helped.

No no, you can pick "Extra content maps" and ONLY play on those maps and team objective + free for all is mixed in it. So the vote screen can be "Artifact Assault" on Dyers then "Assassinate" on Jerusalem or something so that's possible but when you go Free For All you'll still be able to play the extra content maps (I think) because it says "All maps"

No, it's only in "Extra Content Maps" that you can play the new ones. You can even check the map listings of the FFA or Team category in a private match lobby or the Training Ground and you can see that the new maps aren't available in those categories.

So these new maps are splitting the players?

In a way yeah, but they've been implemented differently to how they were in ACB, it's very similar now to the way Halo map packs are done. Since the DLC playlist ONLY includes the 6 maps from the pack, people will still have go into the other categories to play on the vanilla maps, I doubt everyone who bought the DLC will only want to play on the new maps from now on, so.

@Dralight - Thanks for explaining that. It make sense now. Is it just me or does it seem weird that now I'm only able to play 6 maps unless I go in and have to change it. But at least this way I'm able to play with those who have paif for it too. Thanks again Dralight.

So my next question is how many people are getting the dlc??? I think I'll make a new post on this.

New MP DLC always does. In a way I'm glad because only dedicated players will be playing them, implying better matches for me. I'm sick of playing against people who don't know what they're doing.

i assume the maps will be integrated into regular playlists later, as in situations where everybody has the map pack then DLC maps will be available. I'm assuming that won't be often though because the player base for ACR seems so small that most people who are playing in the regular playlists won't have the maps...so for now, DLC playlist for me!
