I'll hold out hope. Still seeing shipping on 11/7, also 11/14 and 11/17. A good solid date would be nice--if they know yet.

fwiw, I just called my local gamestop and they have confirmed I can pick up the game on 11/15. Unless Gamestop changes their pickup date, that is what the date is for me.

gamestop (and any other game retail store) employees know as much about release dates as my grandmother does.

Gotta agree. I remember when Critical Hour came out last year, they didn't even know what it was.

I realise these may not stand for much, but in the UK Virgin,Amazon and HMV are all saying the 17th for release. But GAME is saying the 24th.
And here's the press release about the demo >>
LONDON, UK - 6th October, 2006
Kicking off the countdown to the game’s release, Ubisoft announced today that the single player playable demo of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Sixā® Vegas for the Xbox 360ā"˛¢ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft will be made available to consumers. The Xbox 360ā"˛¢ demo will be available on the European Xbox Liveā"˛¢ Marketplaceā"˛¢ on 23rd October, 2006.
The single player demo features part of the ā€œDante’s Casinoā€ level of the single player mission. Players will Observe, Plan and Assault (O.P.A.) their way through the Gothic-themed casino that is under construction and believed to be a hideout for the terrorist leaders.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Sixā® Vegas will ship worldwide this Autumn 2006 on Xbox 360, Games for Windows and the PlayStation Portable (PSPā"˛¢) while the PlayStationā®3 will be available at European launch.

It doesn't really matter what the exact date is. As long as I have the demo to play until then I will be just fine. I'll try to familiarize myself with the controls and tactics so I can get right to it when the game comes out.

does making a silver account with a UK location give you access to the demo? I understand its against MS policy, but we're talking rainbow here.
I seem to remember people doing it for chromehounds but I can't remember for sure.

I don't think that works. I have never been able to get a Chromehounds demo from the marketplace no matter what Locale I chose.

damn, worth a shot though.

Nevermind, it DOES work. You actually have to create a NEW Silver account, you can't just change the Locale of your existing account to UK, you have to create a brand new Silver account like you said. So theoretically this will work for the Rainbow Six: Vegas demo as well. I just tested this and it worked by creating a NEW silver account.

Yeah, I figured changing the locale on a current tag wouldn't do it. Thats fantastic. Vegas here I come http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

One nice thing about it is if you login to the UK account you created it will change the Locale to whatever you have set on your XBox 360 machine. The good thing is that no matter what Locale it changes it to, it still has full access to the UK Marketplace downloads. So your Locale has nothing to do with it, apparently which Marketplace downloads your profile has access to is determined by the country you register the account to in the beginning. So I am just savng that gamertag until I downlod the Vegas demo http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
