Next patrol is in the Sea of Okhotsk.May 1944....

Any traffic? If so, what areas ? Hoping for some action in the area.

Also, I never get plane contacts anymore...does RSRDC do away with them? Last patrol I sank five ships within 100 m iles of coastline of the Palau Islands, no planes. One Momi patrol boat and I put it on the bottom.

There are planes in RSRD. Just realistic numbers of them.

As I recall there is a fair amount of shipping there. Around the Kurile Islands as I recall. Also near the La Perusse (spelling?) straight. Be mindful of mines too...

Been a while since I've been there.

Thanks for the info.

In stock when I penetrated the Sea of Japan via the La Perouse Strait always did it on surface at night to avoid the patrols and planes.

Plus even though mines were not a problem in stock I knew it was mined, hopefully its tougher to run in TMO RSRDC.

Will avoid venturing into the Sea of Japan until later. Will command ever give patrol orders to the sea of japan or is it like stock where you have to take it upon yourself. The Emperors Bathtub was always an adventure http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

Unless Lurker's changed the minefields, the minefields covering the entrances to the sea of japan, are about 15 mines per sq KM in density.

Stock is 1 mine per sq km. (maybe 5, but i recall 1)

I wanted to make them ALOT thicker, but i was afraid of lagging down peoples computers with all the rendering that would be required.

I just finished a patrol to the Sea of Japan via
La Perousa Strait and my orders said that the Russian ships knew the way through the mine fields. I just happened to catch a Russian tanker going in so I just followed him. Worked great. Left a plot on the Nav. map to follow on the way out. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Daytime on the surface, late 42 TMO RSRDC

I haven't encountered any mines yet but I'm sure they are there.

Thanks Ducimus for the great mod. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

That bit you describe there, is all RSRD's doing. Thank Lurker_Hib3 for that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
