Hi - I have used and enjoyed Ubisoft Games for years, including IL-2 and, much more recently, Chessmaster 10. However, with age (and wisdom), I am becoming ever more concerned at our obsession with war as a means of resolving differences - and as an object of games, as if we humans cannot exist without conflict and war. I now believe that we CAN and MUST exist without armed conflict and war. To peacefully coexist is the only way to be true to our fundamental nature; to engage in war is to betray our true nature. So I exhort UbiSoft to take its eyes off the "bottom line" of short term profitability and to begin to develop more gaming products which encourage thinking of peaceful ways of interacting - ChessMaster being only one of the kinds of games which are possible. I tried to send this message to your corporate offices in France, by the way, but could find no means of emailing them. Have a great day, everyone!

It's a game, by no means am I going to wage war, and call in a WMD on my foreign minority friends. They bring added culture into my life, and I love them for it. How screwed am I if I like to watch mysteries like se7en, play as a cmdr. in a video game, and watch fantasies like Pann's Labyrinthe only to feel compelled to do it in real life.

Have a look at this latest news report. It's so true! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTbYUd1jUc4

Ps. The above like is from TheOnion - a satire news site.

I am familiar with The Onion and have often enjoyed its articles and some videos. However, my concerns about wargaming, particularly first person shooters, and even more particularly children and teens. It would be interesting to do an impartial (good luck?) survey on the obsession with war, violence and death amongst 1) fundamentalist peoples of all faiths; and 2) the rest of us, just to see how the outlooks may vary. Thanks for your note.
