I personally prefer SP.I've been playing Splinter Cell since the first and always enjoyed the SP...PT was a let down in SP though, they focus ed on the MP way too much and almost payed no attention to the SP.PT's SP let down forced me on MP for a while but I never really enjoyed it as much as I did the SP in the first one.
CT's SP was almost all I played.I almost never played the MP.
And now DA.The single player hasn't let me down at all. Some parts are frusterating but every game has those parts. The MP I don't really like. And since they messed up the COOP I don't play it at all.<form action="http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums" method="POST" name="VOTE">

I like a game if it has good replayability to pretty much an infinite number of times with no game ever being the same.
In that case MP all the way. SP is good for a stroyline but beyond that it is worthless IMO.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

SP for me. I know I'll get flamed, but MP (any game's MP) seems like kid's stuff to me. I know it's fun to strategize with friends and get the enemy and all, really it is, but you have to admit that even that can get pretty repetitive after a while. And anyway, I encounter enough competition in my career as it is!
I play games these days as a form of escapism. The way games are being made now, they are like interactive popular fiction. Like being able to partake in a Clancy or King novel. So I like to kick back and stimulate (or rot) my mind with them. This is why I only own a couple of choice games; most of them just really suck and MP can never hold my attention.
But If I had to play an MP, I think SCs is the best out there.

^Agreed. The SP storyline is like a book to escape in.And you don't have to deal with people cheating or your teammates doing nothing.

SP...atleast in the case of SC...is like a book or a movie you can inteact with. It's one of the best storylines out there.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

SP all the way... i get addicted the first run through each new level i play...
And i love to replay the game many times to see and hea everything the game has to laugh about... such as those interrogation scripts, funny situations, enemies taking out enemies, OCP'ing objects NPC's are using... always fun.
I would be the perfect story-writer for splinter cell games of the future.. after convictions of course... (Prequels anyone - back to navy seal days for a few missions and transitions into becoming a splinter cell)<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I wish I had a Splinter Cell XBOX 360/iPod that I could use to shuffle around all of the missions from each campaign. Sort of like Essentials is supposed to be, a Pulp Fiction-esque reordering of Sam's missions. You never know which story you'll be entering next!
Ok, cheesy. But I love this franchise.
Oh, and DA SP rocks... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Multiplayer.
Unless I'm competing with someone else on a high-end level, I'm not having fun. It's all about working up your game, matching wits and reflexes, and emerging victorious.
This is also why I think 64 player battlefield (and other) games are pointless, because one person can't make a difference. I'll take one on one or two on two, thank you.
If you think Multiplayer is "kid's stuff", go to a CPL match, watch some demos of high-end quake one on one matches, and keep an open mind.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I bought the game FOR MP. I didn't know much at all about the Splinter Cell series cept that it was a stealthy game. I did know that the MP on Chaos Theory ( I played it once on XBC LOL )was awesome! I can't say which I like more to be honest I haven't given the SP a chance yet. I got to the point where I jumped over the electric fence on first level and went back to MP cause I'm that addicted to the MP at the momment.

Kid's stuff implies that you just bust into a game and start killing people without any training or mental conditioning. The people that become wealthy aren't your average children that pick up a game and that lets you become good in a few minutes.
Some people practice for 8 hours a day; it quite literally becomes a job. The term e-sport is 100% accurate, you literally have to become a mental athlete.
Of course, I just figure your mental picture of multiplayer is of some 15 year old kids sitting around a television playing halo.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I enjoy playing single player once through to feel the story but then its just dried out for me. I have a competitive nature so multiplayer is where its at for me. I love being able to vs other people and rock their world, they get upset, and try to rock mine! no AI can give you the rush of the moment like a real person can.

It's a JOB, and it sure as hell seems a lot more fun than working in an office from 9-5.
Regardless of what you say or think, e-sports, just like physical sports, is a serious business, and requires tons of dedication to remain at the end of the tons of money being passed around.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I know I'm a snob, but I've never thought of physical sports as much more than kid's stuff either.
It is interesting though, now that I read a bit about it. I had no idea it had gotten to this level.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy a good book/movie/single-player videogame. Expressing myself through the visual arts is great, and I too have never found physical sports appealing at all, but I hope you understand how I thought that the multiplayer being "kids stuff" was a tad short-sighted.
Hell, if people got really competitive at jacks (http://www.channelcraft.com/jacks.gif), I doubt that kids could stand up to the best competitive jacks players from around the world.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I just beat the SP.Both endings.VERY good game.NOT LONG ENOUGH though. The gameplay was excelent.
I LOVE memorizing every mission. So when my friends call me with questions I don't have to be doing the same thing myself.

I prefer to combine SP and MP via co-op

There is no story in co-op anymore. It's just training for an online game.

If this is referring to Double Agent only, I definitely prefer the single player, and wish there was more to it. This is the kind of game where I wouldn't mind filler levels that have little to do with the story, as interesting as it was.
But all in all, my heart lies heavily in sweet, sweet multiplayer co-op missions. I got the first Splinter Cell alongside the original Halo, and me and my brother always talked about how amazing it would be if they just made every game in the world have co-op, most specifically Splinter Cell. You can imagine how thrilled we were to see it in Chaos Theory.
