View Full Version : Air intakes behavior in supersonic speed

Mig : 23,25,29,31; Su : 17/22,27,30,33; F :14,15 have a variable geometry intakes. In supersonic speed special systems changes geometry because air velocity in engine must ba subsonic. Otherwise engine can't work correct. There are a special "flaps" in intakes but in game they don't work. Another bug -In Mig 29 when you retract landing gear this "flaps" totally close air intake, and multiple intakes in strakes are open.

I don't think you're correct regarding the games MiG-29 air intake doors. They are supposed to be closed on the ground and the top louvers are open. When you lift off the ground the intake doors open and the top louvers close. That does happen in the game! However, I haven't been able to tell if it is also happening on the SU-27/33's. I know for sure that it's supposed to on the SU-27, but I'm not too sure about the 33.
