Hey there everyone,

I bought GR:AW over a month ago and loved SP, i only had dialup the whole time i was playing SP however and very much looked forward to getting back ADSL and playing it online with others, that time happened a few weeks ago, but i'm horribly frustrated. i cannot join any game server at all, it lists games fine, and it appears to load them equally well. but as soon as it finishes loading and the screen fades to black, i get the error message entitled "Disconnected" and then "Unknown Reason"... i thought it was because i had several mods installed, but i uninstalled them and even reinstalled my game and all six or seven patches, but i still can't join any, it's doing my head in. oh and i tried forwarding some of the ports also, to no avail. any help would be most appreciated, thanks!

are you using the normal in-game multiplayer mode???? DMZ? doesn't ring a bell with me.
Just disable windows firewall, give grwa the rights in the router-firewall (nvidia for me) and create an account, no messing with ports whatsoever needed for me.... but hey I don't mess around with my PC at all, just use AVG, Spyware-doctor and hitman pro to stay out of trouble.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Thanks Forrester, but the only reason i'm now messing with things is that it won't work with any standard method. i've tried your suggestion already, and no dice. i've even tried disabling all firewalls and such, opening up all my ports with the DMZ, i've tried just about everything :/ i'm at a loss as to why this isn't working

A request for help from my ip provider gave me all the information i needed. The dhcp and dns ip settings essential for port forwarding are not correct by default with tiscali.

It's a SmartAX-MT882v2

here: http://www.huawei.ru/files/documentation/6/68/68.pdf

I used to have a Lynksys ADSL2MUE, but when i came back from America in July it completely randomly died on me, further reasearch revealed the product model was defective upon release, and the sudden death was a common defect, since then they've been removed from stores. and i don't know why i'm telling you this =d just watch out if you have one

~For Anyone Having the problem I had!~

Go to your router by typing http://192.168.1.1 (usually). enter your password and login, if you've not changed it it should be default to "admin" for both login and password. Then navigate to your WAN settings' configuration page. here set the mode to "Pure Bridge" or "Bridged" or something to that effect.

Then save and reboot the modem.

next go to your Connect To page, this can be accessed via the control panel.

When there, click "Create new Connection"

-Set up the Connection as Follows-

Next -&gt; Connect to the Internet -&gt; Set up my Connection Manually -&gt; "Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password" -&gt; (Name your connection) -&gt; (Enter the details your ISP gave you).

Finish; and then double click the new connection, making sure your previous Local Area connection is still enabled. this should then connect you.

After this ensure your firewall's ports are configured, and you should be away.
