nearmiss

I recall I used to use a little utility that shut down services before I started the MSFT FS and other CFS type applications.
Now, I'm on Vista 64Bit with e6600 quad processor, 8800 Nvidia 512M, 4 gigs low latency ram.
I've not read anything about needing to shut down services in the past couple years.
I do have problems frequently with IL2 starting up, leaving the status bar a the bottom from Vista. Needless to say... Ihave no mouse cursor so I do a Ctrl+Alt+Del and shut down IL2 from taskmanager. Frequently, I have to shut down a couple times before I'm all the way into IL2.
Maybe this has been covered before. It's not a big problem. I usually shut down the virus thing before I retry.
Any suggestions...
