Hey guys, Ive bought AC:B last night as i wanted to play with a friend of mine.
(Steam) Downloaded the game. Installed, updated everything without a hitch.
But when trying to connect to the multiplayer servers. it says connection lost. So i checked the forums for information, apparently i'm not the only one with this problem. Found plenty of people claiming they had fixes, tried each and everyone of them. Ranging from ports to proxys to even installing a new ubisoft game launcher.
Nothing worked, I'm geussing this is a ubisoft problem. And i just have to wait it out?
This is a sad day in a almost perfect gaming experience xD

You should have searched for other threads, there are plenty out there.
Look into this thread: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1024388/m/8041032619 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2361024388/m/8041032619)

Im glad for such a fast reply. But it was not a helpfull one. Ive already seen this topic.. And about 10 others.
Like my previous post ive tried every fix/tweak ive found on the forums. Including the one youve just posted.
Also. when trying to find the Settings.ini file i run in a problem.. there is NO settings.ini file in the gamelauncher directory :S Whats up with that?

Then you should contact Ubisoft Support.

This has also already been done xD
Perhaps you can sence my anxiousness to play the game online.
I just dont understand why it doesent work. Aint got no router, no proxys, no problems what so ever with any of my other games. Wich is VAST. This is the first game that has busted my nads so hard my children are going to feel it. xD
Any other fixes. or perhaps some word of reasurrance that its ubisofts fault. Would be much appriciated.

Well, did they answer you already? If not, then you should wait.
It might also have to do with the fact that not many people are playing the multiplayer.

no answer yet. And whats up with that answer? The fact that theres hardly people on MP? Due to wich facts? As its released just a few days ago. Or that people like myself just CANT get onto MP.
Confused xD

I'd say all of them. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
I just meant that AC:B hasn't been released everywhere, like the US, and those that do have it might be playing the singleplayer, and if you add to that the people who can't play the multiplayer...

and even when friend is in lobby doing nothing and you try to invite him he cant join because it say hes unreachable, also if you go to friends list and try to join friends multiplayer game it also say unreachable,so problem is in ubisoft then need to fix something.

I'm going to agree with Cro's horrible english xD
This must be ubisofts fault. As the friendlist does work, while multiplayer doesent. Just doesent make sence. Will be waiting for a patch. Just outragious that they can sell a game that just downright doesent work.
If i could, i would get my money back!

I won't ask you to confirm or deny ever having an illegitimate copy of a previous Ubi game on your PC.
However, if you did, then this thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1801190) may be of use to you.

EscoBlades, are you able to accept game invites from friends in the game?
That's one notable similarity between all the people having trouble. I'm curious if people without matchmaking problems are able to accept invites.

Nope, haven't been able to join any of my friends. Haven't been able to accept any invites either. My friends haven't been able to to the same with my invites.
But i can serach for Ranked and Player Matches without much trouble (usually a 2 to 3 minute wait)

Thanks Escoblades, But that dident fix anything. Its not the launcher, or MP being blocked. Its something on Ubisofts end i reckon.
I tried it just incase. But i dident have anything in my host file that was blocking it. And cant recall cracking any ubisoft game ^^.. But due to these problems i might actually start doing so in the near future.. 50Euro for a game that doesent work FTW

I've found the issue/fix on Steam forums, Apparently Belgium/telenet provider is actually in fault.
The game told us to open up port 1000.. And Telenet blocks every port below 1024.
Aka the game has to change ports.. or Nobody in Belgium using our (BIGGEST) provider will be able to play.

OKAY i was wondering myself, im from belgium too n indeed im also using telenet and cant connect to the multiplayer..
i hate when u buy a game and it doesnt work, im so disapointed!
ALL other games online just work fine, why do they have to make things so complicated!

He has not said anything out of line, so please remain civil.
The Host file - could be a reason for it not connecting - it is a common issue when people have used cracked versions of other titles.. .
In all honesty - you should never have to touch the host file on your PC - unless you are trying to over ride DNS lookups - so some may have used it to bypass the Ubisoft Servers in the past [and I'm sure you can guess the reason]
If that helps people play - who have paid for the game, then I'm not one to judge what they may or may not have been upto in the past with other titles.
Just to back up a solution that may work in some cases.
If you still are not able to connect - make sure Port 1000 is open - and after that report it to support - since if your not willing to take advice from other members, that is your only option.
