by now we have all seen the suppresson video i don't know about you guys but i want this game to be super realistic and im watching this video and i see him reload hi m1. I know a lot about WW2 enough to know that soldiers in WW2 who were issued the m1 did not reload it like that becasue it was to hard to reload in the heat of battle so they shot all 8 rounds and waited for the cartriage to expell i think that need to be fixed i mean DOD got it right im sure COD got it right BIA should get it right!!!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Well trained soldiers could reload their M1 midclip without too much problems. They even added a different animation for it. I don't see what the big deal is. It could be done. It is possible, even if it wasn't comment. Don't like it? Don't reload midclip, simple as that.

it doesn't matter how well trained they were it was easier for them to shoot all 8 ask any WW2 veteran who was issued an m1

The Airborne was the elite. It wasn't common, BUT IT COULD BE DONE! Therefore it is not unrealistic. They fired all of these weapons multiple times. They have been doing research since the 90's. They have a military historican on staff. They have access to the National Archives. They know what they are doing.

Try downloading DivX Player. You can get it for free at www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com). Prior to downloading that, mine would only play the sound as well.

Vid was pretty good...guy playing seemed really 'stiff'. Thign i didnt like was he was just standing out in the open alot. and ddint really seem to get fired upon till he tried to flank by his self...

yup i hated that the most from the e3 demo, the guys ALWAYS standing out in the open...i mnea just sitting there...i dont care if they were surpressed or not, im pretty sure no one would just stand out in the open like a sitting duck in a fire fight

I never said it couldn't be done but the m1 was a b i t c h to reload and they would have fired all 8 shots

I've talked to one on military.com forums. he says they usually fired 2 sets of 3rnds, ejected the last two, then popped a fresh in. They rarely went through a full clip except in some serious firefights. And it's not hard, it takes about 3 seconds to do it. DoD and CoD did NOT get it right. You CAN reload in a matter of seconds from midclip but they did not include it. DoD is an abomination to WW2 weapons anyways. From DoD forums, where a few are very well educated in WW2 and weapons:

"Another "Urban Legend". A partial or full enbloc can be ejected from the weapon easily in a couple of seconds. And while you can't "top off", you can insert a full enbloc once the partial has been ejected. The loose rounds and clip can then be placed in, oh, lets say the pocket of your M41 field jacket and saved for a later reload when things are quiet."

I wish people would listen to those of us who know what is right and who present reliable sources, instead of insisting what they've seen in a game is right and the absolute truth.

well, it is possible to unload a partially filled clip quickly so i think it should be included. just like i believe it is possible to carry two guns, but eitherway i think there should be consequences for both these like loss of physical performance, or increased stopages due to inproperly loaded clips etc. something that i am not sure about is if a partially used bandoleer (i think that's what they're called) can be used again without filling the bandolleer again. in other words, can a partially filled clip be inserted into the garand without serious stopages and missfires? if that is the case, you shouldn't be able to put a partial one back in, therefore making the excess rounds useless!

Maybe a little of topic but .. in the trailer (though you cant say **** if you see 2 seconds of the game) the game looked to easy he just let his guys suppres the enemy and he just walked right past them and shot em maybe its the easy mode but i hope this is not that easy through the whole game and that you run into more enemy's but just 3 in an open field and deal with them the same time over and over again .. you know what i mean? id didnt really looked like a rough fight

The problem with reloading an M1 mid-clip lies in the enbloc clip itself. When there are 8 rounds in the clip friction keeps them locked in fairly tightly. with any lesser number of rounds their is no tension/friction holding them in the clip at all. That is why there is a springloaded follower built into the reciever of the M1 to push the rounds up into the path of the bolt.

When you use the clip release of the side of the M1 to eject a half used clip worth of ammo you frequently get rounds falling out of the Enbloc and into the reciever. This means you have to turn the rifle upside down and shake the loose rounds out before you can put in a full clip. This is NOT something you are gonna want to do in the midst of a firefight.

Is it POSSIBLE? Yes. Is it PRACTICAL? No. Is it ADVISABLE? No.
