Do they usually have their own testers for the new games or do they get people from outside to test? Kind of like they do for COD...just curious cause I would like to be a tester for the new Ghost Recon whenever its set for testing.

Yeah, it really does. You have to go to school to be able to be paid to test games. Crazy world we live in right.....?

Game testing sounds like a really sucky job.. This is a pretty good writeup of how some of it is done. And it sounds like they'll take pretty much anybody with a pulse.

Long time so see Serellan, I'm honored that you pop on just to pwn me, lol.
But anyway, I was meaning to have career in gaming with a salary and longevity. Not a job that might last a month at minimum wage.

Ah, well techinically you don't require a degree to get into the industry. I didn't have one when I got in, although I did get one since.
And I know plenty of great testers that don't have degrees.
And with your edit, you notice it lists "plusses" as a degree. Not required.

Yeah I noticed that. When I was in high school I did some looking around and they did require a degree. Times have changed, btw devry sucks.

I would also make a distinction between a "Software developer in test" and a play tester.. Very different.
