URU was an off shoot of the myst series. Uru is where we in todays time get to go down into the cavern to see things from almost an acheologest point of view. Where the myst series(Myst, Riven, Excile, and Revelation) are the stories of Atrus.

Yes, URU wasn't really a Myst game. It was more like a one-game series revolving around the same world, but hundreds of years in the future. Myst IV follows the storyline of Atrus and his sons, and is done in the same type of format as the other Myst games (click and go), while URU, as you may well have noticed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif , was done in real-time, and you could see your character from the outside. And besides that, URU was an online adventure.

My EB where I sold it called Uru on the receipt "Myst IV". http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif I thought it was wierd - their database may have a problem when the REAL Myst IV comes out!

I was just reading the May edition of PC Gamer magazine and they were reviewing some other game but reffered to Uru as Myst IV. Will be interesting to read when they start talking about Revelation http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Although Ubisoft North America tried many times, there were several places in Europe and Australia that insisted on calling Uru "Myst 4". We would like to set this record straight and you fans can help by pointing out that Myst IV is Revelation and Uru is Uru... Uru is present-day adventure based on D'ni, Myst series happens ... before the present.

You can count of me Kha'tie ... I spent the first 6 months before Uru was released contacting webmasters around the world and informing them that Uru was NOT Myst IV ... as well as supplying links to clarify and support my information ... and that Myst IV was being developed in-house by Ubisoft and that CyanWorlds is developing Uru: Ages BEYOND Myst.

I did receive replies from about half of those I contacted thanking me for this information and they did make the necessary changes to their sites. The most friendly were from Australia.

I also supplied links for MYSTcommunity.com and URUobsession ... what I considered the main Myst related forums at that time ... where most current information can be found.

Perhaps the ending has not yet been written
