Does anyone know of a way to unlock the camera? I would personally like to unlock it to play the game. It unlocks after a battle is over and that’s the way I would like to play the game if anyone knows of a way or what files need to be edited please let me know.

It's not going to happen, as it's considered a hack, and makes the command vehicle's sitrep useless. Mentioned before that the camera was kept like this so you actually feel you're on the field.

Precisely. This is working as intended. I like it too.

Are you kidding me? Actually feel like I’m on the battle field? Is that a joke? Locking down the camera only hiders your ability to view the battle field. It’s stupid and pointless locking it down. It does not allow you to see or get a feel for what’s going on. So instead I have to waste a unit scouting around so I can see what’s happening in a sector or get any recon of that area. Had the developers thought about that ahead of time they would have felt the same way. They didn’t even bother to but in UAVs so we could do just that. Feel like I’m in the battle field. Dude it’s a game! This is an RTS and all RTS games have a free floating camera. If they wish to compete with WIC they need to be a little more liberal about the camera.

The whole element of NOT seeing the entirety of the battlefield is what makes it realistic.
You see what your unit sees. It's pretty straightforward.

The way the camera works is a nice change from the usual. Now they just need to tweak the draw distance a little, but it is nifty being forced to use the binoculars to try to see what your opponent is up to.

There are UAVs, and a command vehicle provides sitrep. Having an overhead camera is not the intention of this game. Though, the camera could use more work though - on infantry garrisoned in buildings, and on helis.
Notice, there is no fog of war. But only line of sight.

You're right about the LoS, I momentarily forgot that.
However, it seems the binoculars actually lifts most of the LoS away, and enables one to see everything - if you can see around buildings, and make out what those vague shapes in the distance are, but it's really useful for spotting helicopters lurking around.

I could not agree more with Artillery on this one. If you decide to invest in the Command Vehicle...it is a great unit. It will give you the birds eye view that you would like to see with the use of the UAV. Personally, I dont believe you should be able to see a tank division hidden in the trees unless you have a POV when it is in range. Either way...having a camera that is free floating so you can immediately move to the other side of the map to see what types of units are on the field so you know what to bring in...does not offer any sense of strategy, especially when this game has a rock/paper/scissors system. You plan on what you want to bring in based on your strategy...and then hope that your opponent did not bring in units to counter it until it is too late.
Again...invest in the Command Vehicle. I did on my PS3 version...and it has legendary status. It has a fairly long range POV, a hostile UAV, and is pretty difficult to detroy unless it is WMD without shields.
