Hi and welcome to the forums
Can you provide more details of whats happening please, i.e. are you able to connect to XBL at all? or are you connecting joining a server and then being dropped?
If you can provide as much detail as possible it will help us to help you http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Also, if you are using a router, go to www.portforward.com (http://www.portforward.com) and use the instructions on there to forward all of your ports.

I have the same problem on this game and this game only. It only happens when I try searching for custom or quick matches. I can join via invites and host matches no problem. And I dont even have a router.

This is probably a silly question and one i shouldve thought to ask sooner but do you have the download content packages?
If not these will prevent you joining rooms that do and well given the packs are free that would be just about everyone, it would also explain why you can host but not join through opti match etc

ok i know you say you are not using a router, but most cable companies are now giving out cable modems that are "gateways" these are cable modems and routers.. pls look at the back or bottom of your cable/dsl modem and tell me what it says make and model#... i can then help you.. it sounds EXACTLY like the problem i use to have. also some modem/gateways have a built in "hidden" spi firewall that you have to disable... pls get me the above information so i can help you.

I have a speed stream 4100b as for the original poster I don't know. But like he and I said. It only happens on RSV. I have no problems with GRAW2, Halo 3, or COD4.

is this your router?? http://gigaset.siemens.com/shc/0,1935,hq_en_0_141386_rA...53A0,00.html#content (http://gigaset.siemens.com/shc/0,1935,hq_en_0_141386_rArNrNrNrN_variation%253A-5_pageType%253AFeatures_imagePos%253A0,00.html#con tent)
have you done a network check on your xbox to see if your NAT is set to open/moderate/ or strict, if mod or strict depending on the hosts settings could be the reason you cant join games, i noticed on this link your router has NAT, so with both of you having the same problem this could be the reason.
i believe halo and cod4 have dedicated servers not sure bout graw2 but as you know vegas is hosted by the individual, so if you host, other players with open nat can join no problem, ones with mod/strict would not be able to if your NAT is anything but open.

your nat settings will affect your playability, for that you should go to www.portforward.com (http://www.portforward.com) and follow the setup for your box, but i think the main problem is the built in spi firewall listed in your modem
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forward...00/Xbox_Live_360.htm (http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Siemens/4100/Xbox_Live_360.htm)
also make sure the spi firewall is off.. this is NOT your windows or software firewall.. it will not change your settings... everything you need is on that page... if your not static already or don't know what that means go to the above site and click on static... good luck.

I think your can call one of three people for that, that I know of. Your ISP might be able to help, your router company, or Microsoft. I would call though, because the reason your trying to set up a Static IP directly relates to Xbox Live.

Also bear in mind Live seems to be a bit flaky at the moment. Something to do with the autumn update I think, but it's causing myself and some of my friends no end of headaches.

It is being worked on, that is true. However, that has nothing to do with the problems listed.

i have not come across this modem before, but it looks like a kinda cross between a modem and a router, it has NAT, it has a fire wall so it should have a interactive page where you can make settings, i would suggest phoning your routers help line and explaining the problem to them, they will probably talk you through the settings required or even set your router from there end. hope that helps good luck. oh btw be aware that some gateways/routers are just NOT compatable to xbox live, they post a list on the site of what will work, www.xboxlive.com (http://www.xboxlive.com)
