How Do I get more torpedos

after you finish your patrol you will go to the capts office there you click on the sub on his desk and you can go to the torp menu. you will then be able to rearm your sub. note that you have a certain amount of "points" these can be used to purchase upgraded torps. the mk 14 steam torps are free... all others uses up points... have fun.........lester

I was doing the first War Patrol (Hunt for Wounded Bear) in an 'S' class sub. I ran out of torpedos fairly early on, and tried to enter Darwin, Australia to re-arm. I was never able to dock there, even though it is an allied base. It took an hour or more of slow maneuvering to get right next to a dock, but it would never allow me to tie up and re-fit.

What gives? Are the only bases I can dock at the ones with the Anchor symbol, or is this feature turned off in the Single Patrol games?

The Manual specifically says:
Map Information
The following elements would be displayed on the navigation map:
Ports
"¢ Submarine bases
Harbors where you can resupply with torpedoes and fuel, recruit new crew and repair your submarine.
"¢ Allied ports
Harbors where you can resupply with fuel and repair your submarine.
"¢ Neutral ports
Harbors where you can resupply with fuel.
"¢ Enemy ports

Anyone know how to dock at an Allied or Neutral port to re-fuel?

every time, I go to a sub-base (midway etc) (not my base) i should be able to re-arm but this is not the case.

is there a bug in the game etc?

Well Im out of torpedoes again, I take it I go to midway and get next to a dock. Or just sit in the bay and wait.

1st of all, I would like to tell "catlegwest" I love your Avatar, I still have a C-64 and it still runs.

2nd, to get resupplied, you need to get close enough to a friendly base to where it asks you if you want to "Re-Fit". Then you just carry on with your mission until you decide to return to your "Home Base".

Hi Tuddley3, please note i do ensure i get close to the port, the option appears to re-fit etc i hit re-fit... but when i check my torp. stores i'm still empty

The original 'Silent Service' was a real hoot on the old C=64 and even better on the Amiga! I used the opening animated sequence for Silent Service next to an Atari 7800 machine (static pic) to demonstrate the capability of the Amiga to customers. Sold alot of Amigas that way!

2nd try at refueling at an allied base (Haniara, Solomon Islands, SE of Rabaul). I'm getting real good at docking. I put the boat in right between two docks 1st try, and never hit the dock. Sounded like a constant 'collision alarm' going off in the background, but never sustained damage. OK, good for me - massive XP as OOD.

Unfortunatly, this port isn't active (either). No docking icon, ergo, no fuel.

So my question is: Can the game editor be used to activate these bases in the game, and if 'yes', how do I do that??? Please be verbose with any instructions. I'm not a programmer, and not a very good scriptor either.

try to go away from port and go back to see if that helps
