I was wondering my agp speed is set on 4x, the card I have is a 8x ati card. In my bios there is nothing to switch to agp 8x speed. I have contacted my motherboard company and they offer no bios updates for my board.
Are there any programs that allow you to change the agp speed or is agp 4x the max this mobo can handle?

The Motherboard determines the speed OR the graphics card does - it's like a chain - the weakest link determines the speed.

its a intel board and the documentation doesnt even say anywhere what agp speed it is. But the ati control center shows its running at 4x and has been.
I already know if the agp port on the mobo is running at 4x the card will run at that speed max my question was are there any programs that allow you to change the bios setting since there are no bios updates at the manufacturer.
I just have an option for agp or pci and thats it.

What BIOS do you have ?
Check here (http://www.bioscentral.com/) if there are hidden features - sometimes there are... They don't want to tell you - time to get paranoid http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif - well maybe lol
Did you try Ctrl-F1 yet in the BIOS ?

there is not much difference in real terms between 4x and 8x agp bus- sometimes ati software locks it down to 4x as it thinks its a safer settting- there are utilities to try and force your agp and tweak other settings if available - use them AT YOUR OWN RISK
try rivatuner here

or rage3d tweak from here

good luck

What chipset is your Intel MoBo? If its say 850 for example it may only be a 4x AGP MoBo

LeadSpitter, my Asus P4P 800-E Deluxe is the same, doesn't say it's running at 8x. I believe if you look in the GeForce Tweek Utility it will say it is running at 8x.
I can't comfirm right now as it's on it's way back to NewEgg. 2nd time and getting a refund to upgrade to a P4C 800-E. I don't recommend getting a P4P... too many breakdowns. Even Asus recommends the P4C as a better mobo.

Which Intel board is it? What BIOS version are you running? I have an Intel D875PBZ and it clearly shows 8X AGP. Also what video card do you have? ATI's smartgart utility tab will tell you your actual AGP speed as well as let you set it manually.
