Assuming that France will be Free France, they were good infantry, and the Italians...well they were good at something Im sure http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The French have the advantage of creating defensive lines but nothing has been said about the Italians.

My guess is they might be a balanced faction.

They said the Italians will have a good navy.

I think it was in a Eurogamer or Gamespot review.

Can't think of what the French might excel at to be honest, especially considering by the point that i imagine the game is, they were pretty much using allied equipment, that is, american. I suppose they might have some defensive capabilities, but otherwise it's hard to say

With the Italians, well they did have some pretty good infantry units, the Paracadutisti which i believe were some of the first, if not first paratroopers in the world, and there were also the Bersagliari which were also elite italian infantry units of high mobility, they fought in africa and on the eastern front as well.

Plus they had some rather good assault guns in the semovente series i believe, and i do believe they did in fact have a bigger AA/AT gun than the FlaK 88 which they in fact mounted on trucks for mobile usage as well.

So while their tanks and actual officers might be that great, they did have some good equipment and the spirit of most of the men was good, problem was that it wasn't with all troops and the quality was of great variety

Italians for airborne attacks?
French for spying and "behind the lines" operations?

as quoted in the latest interview, the italians can "churn out a lot of ships." that sounds pretty good...

they didnt shell everything.I just checked and As far as i could tell from the walkthrough vids the shells only reached short of the towns of pignataro and cervaro and they had to use bombers to destroy the final objective. neverless a shell can only fall at your last known position... if you use your ruses well and keep moving you should be able to outflank and destroy the AAA and then take out the ships...and im sure that the devs took this problem into acount and will put some restrictions or balancing factor on ships range or they might design the maps sothat the ships guns cant reach every where...

Except that unless you use Radio Silence, there is no last known position. You can see all the enemies units on the map, but not what they are.

And not to mention the Italian player will also have RUSES, a base and other units. Launching a massive offensive on the ships or ignoring them would cost you the game.

And the Holy Hand Grenade is very historically accurate http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

in that mission, YOU DO NOT CONTROL THE SHIPS.

N3V30
10-29-2009, 06:01 PM
Thats not the point Bruce.

If the Italians strength is to churn out alot of ships then you can control them. Being able to control large amounts of battleships is a bit of an unfair advantage.

Hhhhmmm churning out battleships like zerglings and then hiding them under radio silence could be a very deadly combo dont you think? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

i think the definition of "churning out ships" and "churning out infantry/tanks" is a bit different. ships will obviously have a much longer build time than regular land units, for all factions, including the Italians. My guess is that Italy will just have a slightly shorter build time for these ships.

make sense? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Then why would they say that the Italians can 'Churn our ships like Zerglings'? That would suggest that you can build ships.
