I’m writing this today to express my extreme disappointment at the latest instalment of one of my most favourite series ever, heroes of might and magic. I was in the beta and I enjoyed every single moment of it, and the fact that there was a beta made me very happy to know black hole was trying to provide the best possible gameplay experience for its customers. But now the release version of the game won’t even run, and the technical support forums are FILLED with posts about all kinds of different launch issues. What was the point of the beta if so many people have the game crash on launch?

In my job as a plumber if a large number of the appliances I install don’t work straight off the bat I’m up **** creek without a paddle. Why is it game developers can get away with releasing shoddy, broken **** and get away with it?

At this point I’m thinking just try and get a refund and wait for skyrim…

I sympathize with your negative experience (it's never fun when an anticipated game doesn't work), but I want to chip in that not everyone has problems with the game. I've been playing all evening (online even) and there have been no troubles for me.

I hope you can find a fix, or that a patch will address what causes your technical issues. PC games are sadly often plagued by tech issues at launch; there are just so many different hardware setups. (Oblivion was a terrible release for me, and I expect Skyrim to be bugged for a while too -- like most of their releases.)
