By reading through various polls I find names of so called ultimate skills. For example "pure luck" These seem to be the best skills available in a particular category.
My questions are:
- How do you know which ultimate skills there are and what the prequisites are for them?
- Which skills are best for campaign 2? For in the second mission I'm having a hard time to beat the demon lord after I've beaten the griffion guards.
(I'm sorry for my probably poor english, I'm from a non-english speaking country)

The only way to know at the moment is to read the skills tables made by different fansites.

As far as Inferno campaign is concerned, I'd say Dark Magic helps a lot and so do Attack and Defense skills.

I also maxed War Machines skill because I knew I'd have to take many cities later on...

Generally it's not your skills the problem, but how you handled the map prior to your loss (ie : lost too many creatures, didn't pick good Artifacts, etc..) and of course the way you do the battles has an huge impact on your success.

try visiting http://www.the-genies-lamp.com/heroes_5_main.htm u should find all the requirements of the ultimate learnings u want. They should be right & there could be a slight difference in the names of some of the abilities, but it should be very helpful. I hope that helps.
BTW: Absolute Luck is the ultimate ability of the Rangers (Sylvan) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I downloaded this cool skillwheel and keep it open while I play to guide my skill selecting decision making. It is a great tool:

The release version changed a few things (and not only names). Not many, but if you want a completely up-to-date information, you can go there:
http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes5/inferno_creatures.shtml

For example, the Demon Lord now has access to Dark Magic/Dark Renewal instead of Light Magic/Twilight, which makes his ultimate ability, Urgash's Call, a little easier to get.
