Well actually thats about what you will be seeing, its a 3d game, but 2d old school gameplay.

Love the stylized look though. Not realistic, not cartoony, they've got their very own look. I think it's sweet! Go Ryu!

My first thoughts on that screenshot is "how cartoony it looks." The character pictured appears to be deformed. However, if you like those kind of games, have at it.

Could it be that it's the Wii Version?
They could keep it 2D But increase details on the background , I mean look at the guy sitting on the bench, that's 3D old gen for sure!
