One word: Yes.
I've heard that archers at least can hurt allies if, for example, they try to shoot down and enemy who is fighting with another ally in close combat http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

In one of the videos on IGN, to warriors are dueling for about 2 minutes, then a mage comes in, casts a fireball, and blows up the guy on his own team. Then he casts another fireball to kill the enemy.
And it seems like all the classes are being balanced with friendly fire in mind.

Yes, friendly fire keeps the balance great http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Yet another priest advantage - smart spells that react according to the target.

Well, if this is the case, I think I most certainly need to take the fighter, as I probably will end up killing everyone on my team, and in the end get booted every time...
More pressing question on my mind; will you be able to select different weapons for different classes? IE can a warrior use a different sword, or a staff instead of a typical longsword?

I think classes are restricted to their armament of choice. It would be nice if a warrior could pick up a staff, but it sounds like they're deadly enough with a sword as is.

Perhaps. However the question still remains; will we be limited to a particular type of sword? Does a level 15 warrior have to wear the same armor and wield the same sword as a level one, or can he wear full plate and wield a blade worthy of a lord in its design? Is he or she limited to a european longsword, or can he or she upgrade to a katana, or even a talwar?
A magic blade, or simply stuck with a plain old standard issue longsword (No one jump on me about realism...it would have looked dumb if Aragorn was walking around a Gondorian longsword instead of Andurial, not to meantion walking around in Gondorian troops armor instead of the royal atire he was in)?

I think u can get better stuff as u progress trough the level, better armor, better weapons and stuff like that, or you can buy it (I think)
