View Full Version : Screen Goes Black at Startup..

Hey guy's, whenever i start the demo, the screen goes black and nothing shows but i can hear the sounds....i hear the UBI sound that goes on b4 every game, then i hear some sound effects (i think the ones at the main menu) but i don't see anything but black...anyone know what hte problem is?

what video card and drivers are you using?

Well i'm not exactly a computer person so i'm not sure about my drivers BUT my video card is a Nividia GeForce4 MX420 (right off the sticker on teh computer)...thanks for helping by the way..

unfortunately the min requirement for the game is that your video card supports pixel and vertex shaders. The MX series doesn't. For Nvidia you need at least a GF4 non Mx and for Ati a 9xxx series card.

did that to me - sorted out when i discovered my windows firewall was blocking the lockdown demo :P

Restart, then reinstall if that doesnt work.

One more plea for help please... out of these video cards (http://www.circuitcity.com/rpsm/N/40625632/context/99625632/rpem/ccd/shopbybrand.do) which is the cheapest that WILL work? again THANKS for the help...

My mates gettign this on a GF4 MX440, hes kind of hacked off with it as it took him almost 5 hours to get it.
