Crashing to desktop.......

after i instaled 1.2 i have has major problems viewing the outside world in rough seas while looking in the periscope. No problem while surface, but in periscope view i always crash to desktop after a few mins of looking into it. I dont know what the problem is. I been hearing alot of problems about FPS issues with 1.2. Should i unistall game and just play without patch intill they fix FPS issue?

Shhhhhh... Be very quiet when discussing CTD's as the game knows when you're not pleased with it will use all its energy to cause further frustration. It's always watching and waiting. Waiting for the precise moment when you have had all you can stand of the BS programming, the ever present bugs, and (shhhhhh!) seemingly random CTD's that make repeated bashing of your head against the monitor seem like the only worthwhile solution.

I've not had a CTD while using the periscope. I have had them doing pretty much everything else. All I can recommend, if you haven't done so already is:

a. Disable DirectX "Hardware Acceleration"
b. Close all non-essential processes in Task Manager
c. After installing 1.2 DO NOT load saved games from 1.1 where you're at sea. Either load a saved game from when you were in port or begin a whole new career.
d. Always do "Save and Exit". Then load your save from the main menu. Takes a lot of time but you'll be rewarded with far fewer crashes.

Yes, yes, hush. No CTDs for me for 2 days now since using run DXdiag and turning down sound hardware acceleration.. Shhhhh! On silent running
