In other words, they delayed it to compete with the Halo 2 DLC?

I guess Ubi gave the news drop to Ign and Gamebattles? Nothing official on this site..or am I blind.

$10 would be 800 MS points. 1000 points = $12.50. So maybe by "less than 1000" they mean 800.

800 for 3 maps is pretty steep.

Team Xbox article:
http://features.teamxbox.com/xbox/1957/Rainbow-Six-Vega...ck-Media-Blowout/p1/ (http://features.teamxbox.com/xbox/1957/Rainbow-Six-Vegas-Players-Pack-Media-Blowout/p1/)

"The Player's Pack Red Edition is scheduled to be available on Xbox Live Marketplace on April 18 and it will include three all-new adversarial multiplayer maps, two revisited maps from Rainbow Six Vegas and two brand new game modes."

On IGN's article,
...and do those guys at IGN actually PLAY Vegas? They don't seem to know you can set voice to alive only. There's also this:
"Killhouse - Redux, however is a remake of a level from the single-player campaign of Vegas, but it's also a remake of a legacy map. I'm not sure, but I think this map is actually a remake of the original Rainbow Six games, perhaps the first."

Killhouse from SP campaign? "I THINK" it's a remake? It's not from the SP and it IS a remake. Do they actually play these games or what?

800 points sounds fine to me.

MeanMF

New Lost Planet maps have been 200 points each, and COD3 maps were 160 each..So to be fair this map pack should be priced between 480 and 600 points.

I guarantee you that by "less than 1000 points, around $10" that he means "1000 points".

Which is $12.50, and a rip off.

Same price that OXM estimated for the original full 10-map pack waaaay back when it was leaked.

Looks like they're angling for $25 instead. Color me disappointed. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Hmmm... ~12.50 for 3 new maps and 1 new mode... seems kinda pricey to me... But I will probably end up buying it anyway...

... yet not surprised. I'm ok with paying for content sometimes, but Ubisoft's pricing is a bit on the high side.

The GRAW expansion was 1600 points for 4 new maps, or 400 points each..They got a ton of negative feedback and publicity and eventually cut the price to 800 points. It looks like they might be going for a repeat performance here. Anything over 600 points is a rip-off even by Marketplace standards.

RawKryptonite
04-10-2007, 10:23 AM
I think it'll be $10, 800 points.
I think they were told price and were guessing about the points. IGN doesn't seem to know anything at all about Rainbow, so it doesn't surprise me that they don't know how MS points correlate to a dollar figure.

FrayedKnotJeff
04-10-2007, 10:27 AM
Ubi sent out a press release that says what the price is, so that's where the 1000 points came from. I don't know if it said under or at because I didn't get the press release, but one of them (ign/GB) made a mistake

Well if it was a press release, one would think it would be on their website.

You would have to be a provider of gaming information like GB, or ign in order to get the press release from Ubi. I just know that's how GB gets their info for this stuff.

I know this might not refer to the DLC. But I would Like my 125 gamerscore for beating the T-Hunt on realistic for the spiltscreen. I've beatin it twice now, the both times I beat it it gave my other profile the Co-op achievement for T-Hunt. It also took 4 times to beat single player on realistic to give me the Realistic Achievement.

ya i just saw that on GB's website. i guess all their in game advertising is just for lining their own pockets and same with this DLC. still charging 10 bucks while great games like gears gives it out for free and actually informs their public know what the hell is going on. and since the removal of percideo i will not be purchasing this since that was the sole reason i wanted the pack. to much bs that ubi puts out there and still charges for it, and still never puts out any official word on anything until its already out. i hated total conquest before you can play assassination in a mutual server with players willing (ive played that since orig rs3 on xbox) and will hate boarder town no matter what the light is and love killhouse as is.

Un-Deux is a new community manager. I think we'll see some reform from what the mods and admins were previously doing, which was nothing. I believe Un-Deux will be up to your's and everyone else's expectations. You might wanna stick around a little bit longer navy.

Oh yeah just like they paid for the RS3BA DLC. That DLC was $5.00 right? People were just breaking down the firewalls to get to that DLC. lol

With the marketplace full of pay DLC though, purchasing will be the rule. Free stuff is few and far between. If they know they can charge for it, they will 99% of the time. And they can.

I hope you're right because the last DLC was hardly played and Prison was a hell of a great map that went to waist because of that.
